Corey asked a question in Songbird on November 07, 2009 16:55:

    Corey
    lowercase
I'm brand new to songbird, and I have to say that the potential of this program is amazing! That being said, I'm having trouble getting started and getting my files to display in a way that I like, so right now I'm thinking of moving on to a different player. A quick search revealed no helpful instructions for my case, so here goes... If you want to skim my questions just look next to each numbered item.

All of my files are .wav format, so I don't use .mp3s or ID3 tags. This isn't up for discussion. I have 30,000+ .wav files of my CD collection, and I don't want to convert them, nor tag them. When I import them into Songbird, everything is lowercase, and the extension is displayed. The other posts that remedy this simply say to make sure you tag everything.

    (1) I just want to be able to add my directories and have every filename display the way it is, without any changes, and just drop the .wav extension from the viewer.

    (2) I don't want to add images to each album/track, I would like the images to simply display, as I have a separate folder for each CD, and several artwork scans in each folder. Programs like winamp have plugins that will scroll all the images that are in the folder that the current song is in, so each song that I click on I can have a nice scroll of related artwork. The key desires here are that I can have multiple images displayed, and that nothing is embedded, and that I don't have to manually do work for 30,000+ files that is program specific. (What if I have to format my computer? I really don't want to think about having to manually re-add associations for 30,000+ songs to have images.)

Sorry if I'm coming across negatively. I just have very specific desires and am rather obstinate when it comes to exceptions to my criteria.

I want the Rolls Royce of mp3 players, ok? :)

    Thanks, guys. :)

Here's an example of what I've been doing with Winamp. I just add the hard drive (all music is on a separate hard drive), and everything displays correctly. Very quick and easy.

Notice the same song is playing, and another image is being displayed. There are 9 images associated with this particular promo CD.
