I want to repopen this, if it is closed. With the recent integration of Facebook pages to Twitter feeds, my usual way to make scheduled tweets is now invalid.
I used to be able to make a scheduled tweet with the #fb tag at the end for the Facebook application Selective Twitter Status. This would post to my Twitter at a specified time and also jump to my Facebook page profile. VERY useful.
The problem now is that Facebook has their own integration from pages directly to Twitter, so every post on a Facebook page goes back to Twitter. (which is also very useful)
Now, when I make a scheduled tweet and put #fb at the end, it will post to Twitter, post to the Facebook page, and THEN post again to Twitter from Facebook, resulting in 2 Twitter posts each time (one from Hootsuite and one from Facebook).
The only real way to do this is to make a scheduled tweet that goes to Ping.fm that will trigger it to go to my Facebook page, then result in the same post jumping to my Twitter page.
If there was a way to make a scheduled tweet and have a checkbox to either go to Ping or not, that would be PERFECT. Is there any way to select which tweets will go to Ping or which tweets will not? Even if not for the regular streams, can this be for scheduled tweets? Basically, since Hootsuite is utilized for a lot of businesses, this would be the smartest option for us.

This is a BIG need for me. I can then get my facebook page to post through Hootsuite with this and track the links using Selective Twitter Status (a popular facebook app). Twitterfeed has moved to this as well, with an option to prefix and suffix the RSS feeds. I'd love for you guys to consider this.

ow.ly links from Hootsuite in SeesmicI would love to be able to utilize my ow.ly links in Seesmic. Ow.ly's links are simply easier to produce and manage and seems like a great addition to Seesmic. Has this been considered as a URL shortener?
A comment on the problem "Hootsuite is double tweeting each post in my RSS feed." in HootSuite:
I think there is still a problem. Although there is no more double-sending, now it does not send without it going manually. I have to clear it out and reinstall the RSS link, and it shoots through. However (since I create a feed every Monday), not one of the feeds each week come through without me deleting the feed in Hootsuite, then re-entering the feed URL, then reuploading the xml RSS feed with a newer date.
I have 2 other feeds (YouTube and Flickr) that never have a problem what-so-ever. What could be the problem here? – Corey, on August 03, 2009 23:32

show @mentions in home stream even if I don't follow themI'd love to be able to see the @mentions in my home feed, no matter if I follow them or not. This way, I don't have to load an additional column of @mentions if I don't have to. Seesmic Desktop does this right now, and it's very effective, so if I don't happen to look at the column of @mentions, it will still show me if someone is talking to me.

multiple account mentions and DM's in streamIn the beta (or v.2), it would be wonderful to be able to see a column for the @mentions for multiple accounts at once. Similar to Seesmic Desktop, you can create one column, save real estate space, and see all the @mentions for all the accounts (or selected accounts) that you want.
This would also be great for DM columns so that you can see all the DM's to the accounts that you own at once.

Apostrophe in RSS titles don't show upWhen an RSS feed contains an apostrophe, it is left out of the tweet. For example, I sent one today with the title word: It's
When it came in, it went to Twitter as: Its
Just looks like bad grammar from the sender.

@rbbandstand is mine, however I have deleted the second one this morning. both of mine stated that it was from Hootsuite and contained an ow.ly link as well (each one different).

Corey replied on June 03, 2009 13:53 to the idea "title + description for RSS feeds" in HootSuite:
This is something that really needs to be initiated (in my opinion). Since switching to HootSuite (which I love), I now have to make completely sure that my title of the new post is alluring, since no description follows it. It would be smart to have this as an option so that people will WANT to continue the abbreviated sentence that they see.-

Append RSS feeds with characters for Facebook Business PagesIt would be great to be able to append RSS feeds with some characters. As most aggregaters do, you can write something PRIOR to your RSS feed. However, HootSuite limits you to not post from your RSS to your Ping.fm. One of the main reasons (I believe) for the request of posting to ping from your RSS is for facebook pages for businesses.
I currently use Selective Facebook Status (facebook application) which sends my scheduled tweets to facebook, and works great. However, it requires you to place #fb at the end of your tweet. You can't do this for RSS feeds through HootSuite, however if we were allowed to send this trigger at the END of the RSS feed tweet, it would be able to integrate RSS into facebook business pages, track links through ow.ly, and I believe relieve some of the pressure of RSS into other social media departments.
Will this be an option?

Why would you update your blog with a tweet? Wouldn't you update your tweet with your blog entry? – Corey Groll, on May 30, 2009 03:38
A comment on the idea "Ping.fm Triggers for Feeds" in HootSuite:
I don't understand. Why would you post a tweet to your blog? Isn't it the other way around? You have a blog that posts to your tweet, or would essentially post to your ping.fm and would update everything.
I'd like this as well, possibly if you can have a checkbox to include or NOT include your RSS to go to a ping.fm account.
The reason, I use my ping.fm account to send to Twitter and to my Facebook business page ONLY. So, I want my RSS to update both and use ow.ly tracking of the links, however I can only update Twitter automatically, and have to manually update my Facebook page, which is a bit tedious. To have it update both is exactly what I'm needing.
I don't want every tweet to go to ping.fm, just my RSS feed.
If you have the checkbox, maybe people can decide what's best for their situation? I know it's a 'risk', however if you can have it find a duplicate entry as an error, you would most likely solve the problem of looping in case people don't understand the concept. – Corey Groll, on May 30, 2009 03:36
