My profile info went POOF!I registered yesterday and filled in some of my profile information while I was at work. This morning I went back to add a photo from my home computer, and all the rest of the profile info I had filled in was gone. Location, gender, tagline, etc. -- going to Edit my profile seems to have wiped everything in there. I didn't go to the other sub-links just in case because I didn't want to lose anything else!
Courtney reported a problem in NeighborGoods on August 04, 2009 00:10:
Confusion on where to set transaction detail defaultsIt took a bit of clicking to figure out where to go to edit my default transaction details. I kept wanting to click on my name to go to my account rather than "edit." But that might just be learning curve -- it's minor.

"Dented" is not descriptive in a lot of cases.A lot of things might be "slightly worn" or "slightly damaged," but not necessarily dented. If this description is going to eventually indicate if people screw up your stuff, the description should be accurate to begin with. I get where you are going, but maybe the cute option is not the right one here.
Courtney reported a problem in UGG on June 02, 2009 22:06:
UGGs are slippers but people wear them out of the house. How can this behavior be discouraged? They are incredibly unflattering and I feel badly for people who wear them in public.

Jay - perhaps that's a new feature. This conversation was posted 9 months ago. There was no delete account function at that time. – Courtney, on August 28, 2008 14:05
Courtney replied on August 04, 2008 19:19 to the question "Bug in new separated protected accounts" in Twitter:
Sure. This happened both times I have followed someone new since the follow/following separation for private accounts. The new people I followed are @coley and @missrouge. It's weird because it breaks the whole timeline - when I started following @coley this morning, I had a page and a half of my full stream, and then nothing but @coley going back pages and pages and weeks and weeks. She's now pushed back to page 5, but it is still there, all the way to page 10. I'm guessing she will be properly slotted in future posts, and these will scroll off, which is how the problem "resolved" itself when I added Tara before.
Courtney asked a question in Twitter on August 04, 2008 16:26:
Bug in new separated protected accountsI'm seeing a bug in the new protected accounts. I approved someone to follow me, and then followed them back, expecting their posts to be slotted into the timeline of people I follow. Instead, I get a page of my normal stream, then pages and pages of ONLY the new person. Logging out and back in does not fix the problem. This has now happened twice; after the first one, I just used Twitterific until it stopped happening, though I am not sure what changed.

Courtney asked a question in Apple on July 14, 2008 17:43:
Is there a cheap & fast stylus for my MacBook touchpad? Is there anything around my house I can use as a stylus for my MacBook touchpad? I'm trying to sign a document without the whole print/sign/scan go-round, and using my finger with the pencil tool in Illustrator just isn't cutting it. I need something more precise.
I found a video on YouTube of someone using a battery (since it conducts a current, obvs.), but either it is faked or it only works on a Toshiba laptop.

"What the hell are the twitter staff thinking?"
I think they are thinking that the scalability issues they've been having come first. Also I've talked to some of the engineers and it seems like it is a more difficult thing to fix than one might think, because it is a result of some decisions that were made really early on before they knew where this whole Twitter thing was going, and as a result this functionality is pretty firmly embedded in the architecture.
They know it is a problem and have pledged to address it, which I assume they will. It is a bit annoying to me, but also not something I am going to get too worked up about. I mean, you gotta have some perspective on this -- it's just Twitter!
Courtney reported a problem in Aids Marathon on July 06, 2008 21:29:
AIDS Marathon is double-charging some of my donors. Two friends have reported that when they submitted their donation form online, the site said that the submission did not work, so they pressed the "back" button and resubmitted. Later, they found that their cards had been charged twice.
In both cases, they decided it was for a good cause and did not ask to be refunded. Still, it is a problem because I don't want the people I ask to support this cause to feel like they are being taken advantage of.
Courtney shared an idea in Aids Marathon on July 06, 2008 20:40:
Make fundraising schwag optional.Things I have (or will have by the time I finish this year's marathon) received from the AIDS Marathon training program that I have absolutely no use for:
- two bright yellow polyester "performance" t-shirts that are too big and too scratchy to run in (not to mention too unattractive)
- two birght yellow polyester "performance" singlets, ditto
- a folder full of preprinted envelopes and letterhead for sending fundraising letters like it was 1994 and a lot of people still had not heard of email
All 4 shirts went or will go straight to Goodwill; the envelopes went into recycling and the letterhead went into the scrap paper pile for my printer as I sent all my fundraising letters via email.
It seems like the AIDS Marathon could send all these materials only to the people who actually want and plan to use them, and then that money I am working so hard to raise would not be wasted.

The fundraising site doesn't work on Macs. This is my second year training and fundraising with the San Francisco AIDS Marathon, and my second year of being really frustrated with the online fundraising tools available to me because the site does not work on a Mac. I can't change the text on my donation page, upload photos, etc. But this is the main channel through which I'm expected to raise $1800.
Emails to the SF HQ have resulted in one of the employees updating my site with text I sent him via email, which is fine for a quick fix but doesn't really help me put my best foot forward when every formatting or punctuation change requires a flurry of emails. It's probably not the best use of their employees' time either. And in two years I've received no replies to my inquiries about WHY it doesn't work or when that might change. Macs are no longer a tiny minority of personal computer usage; one would think that providing their fundraisers with the the proper tools would be a priority.

What do nearby theaters cost? You know what would be really helpful in this era of ridiculous escalating movie ticket prices? Some sort of matrix that tells you the ticket cost, matinee price & hours, etc. for theaters near your ZIP code.
