Question OwnershipSeveral CoPs have indicated they have the same concern as the following expressed by the Parenting COP regarding the FAQ system. Is there a way to label FAQs with the COP that "owns" that FAQ. The FAQs have tags that affiliate them with JITP (e.g., "parenting"). But, several COPs will use tags that consequently link the FAQ to our COP. However, the COP that owns the FAQ is the group that facilitates the writing, review and publishing of the FAQ. This is not to say other COPs can't chime in during the process, but in the end, the COP that "owns" it should be the one who published it. So.... is there a field that can be created that links the FAQ to the COP "owner".
One suggestion might be: Create a seperate field called "COP Publisher" - this would designate which COP has final publishing rights. Anyone can review/edit, but only the COP Publisher has the final say on whether the FAQ gets published.

Craig replied on December 04, 2008 14:51 to the question "Reveal Authors" in eXtension:
There is a task force on scholarship and P&T that is looking at the metadata and what would be important pieces for P&T reporting. Mike is chairing that task force. Maybe he can weigh in when he returns.
Using the metadata for something, might give the CoPs a reason to enter the metadata. Just a thought.
We can certainly have a discussion on standard format or procedure.
A comment on the question "Reveal Authors" in eXtension:
Certainly not an insurmountable problem. I can ask the CMB how they would like to handle it and come up with an acceptable standard. The metadata now, by default, puts the in the persons extensionID as a contributor. If we stay with that standard of extensionID, can we link that to their name and institution for publishing provided that is the standard. Wow, that's using standard a lot. :) – Craig, on December 02, 2008 20:27
Craig asked a question in eXtension on December 02, 2008 15:07:
Reveal AuthorsCan we now start to reveal the primary and secondary authors for articles? If so, we will start working withe the CoPs to enter that data that might be missing.
