In my case, it was my firewall... try disabling it and trying to log on, if it works, you'll know that's where the problem is. Good luck!-

Ha, well whaddya know. I opened my firewall and reinstalled the whole thing with firewall running (and asking me about it)... it's all fine now!

Yup, can sign in on there fine. Still can't sign in using twitter clients though (destroytwitter, tweetdeck, spaz all attempted). -
