Hello,
Although we do allow aggregating of public updates, re-posting others' updates as your own, or in other words, without properly crediting the author, is not allowed on Twitter. In most cases, this is either a spam tactic or a person misusing the service without realizing it.
To get your updates removed from another account's time line, please send an @reply to:
1. @spam with the user name of the tweetjacking profile; this way our spam team can make sure the account is not a spammer
2. the account owner asking them to remove your updates from their time line
If your updates are not credited as belonging to you or removed from the profile within 24 hours of your request to the account owner, submit a complaint to Twitter Support, and include:
-the user name of the account that is re-posting your updates
-the URL of your removal request, like so: http://twitter.com/hotdogsladies/stat...
Our support team will research the account and get back to you with more information.
Thanks!
Crystal

crystal replied on November 25, 2008 16:02 to the problem "Sprint customers in the US not receiving sms from 40404 (Nov 2008)" in Twitter:
Hi guys,
We still have a handful of people experiencing problems receiving messages. Oddly enough, we do have records of all of the messages being sent and received to each individual number. Because of this, we believe that the problem may be occurring somewhere in the process of transferring the message from from Twitter to:
1. our SMS provider, who then routes it to
2. Sprint, who may not deliver the message though we can confirm it was received.
We're investigating these individual cases with our SMS/text provider, but it's going to take some time, especially since there are only about 6 cases of this reported.
If you are one of the people experiencing this problem, try deleting and re-adding your phone number in your Twitter settings. Once you re-verify your phone, try sending some commands, like ON, or WHOIS username, or GET username to get a person's last status. If that still doesn't work, please file a support request (if you haven't already) and reference this thread. We can provide you with transaction IDs for each message and we can take it from there.
Thanks,
Crystal

Hey guys,
Our SMS provider is making changes to how they deal with Sprint SMS traffic. This was not meant to cause a service interruption, but unfortunately it has. We've updated the status blog here:
http://status.twitter.com/post/607446...
and this will be resolved soon.

we're looking at this today. it's odd that Sprint would say "services by Odeo" since Twitter never was a service of Odeo. Odeo and Twitter were both services of Obvious, and Twitter broke off into its own thing. – crystal, on November 20, 2008 19:51

@bitchincamero we should have status deletion back soon, we're working on it as we speak. bringing back account deletion is going to take a little longer than status deletion. – crystal, on November 14, 2008 20:19

@thomas, good point-- we update the status blog but @twitter doesn't reflect that change. going forward we will update @twitter with fixed status as well. – crystal, on November 14, 2008 20:16
