Dave Ross replied on October 13, 2008 12:36 to the question "Different times for every reminder" in I want Sandy:
I don't think it's mentioned in the documentation yet, but there's a @reminder tag you can use to tell Sandy when she should alert you about an appointment.
You can find details in the UPDATE for July 16th-23rd, 2008. In short, you are able to send Sandy messages like:
> Remind me to pick up a card for Susan's birthday on Monday @reminder tomorrow afternoon @birthday.
Dave Ross replied on October 08, 2008 16:39 to the problem "Daily Digest, no help received." in I want Sandy:
Hi kitty,
I'm sorry you weren't able to get help on your problem. Get Satisfaction is a community-based support site, where users of I Want Sandy can answer each others' questions. Sometimes the community can answer each others' questions faster than it takes customer service to get back to you.
Unfortunately, your problem sounds like one the community wouldn't be able to fix.
For a direct line to "Sandy's helpers", you can email help@iwantsandy.com, and someone on the Values of n staff will get back to you.
I'd also like to invite you to attend the I Want Sandy townhall, held every Wednesday at 2pm central time. It's held in a chatroom at https://raelity.campfirenow.com/f511c and would give you the opportunity to speak directly to Rael, some of Sandy's other "helpers", and members of the community. Of course, if you're at work during that time, I totally understand it if you don't want the boss catching you sitting in a chatroom.
Anyway, please send help@iwantsandy.com a note, and I'll nag them to look into it at today's townhall.

Very cool! I set up something similar in Launchy at work, and it makes it a breeze to send Sandy quick updates. People have set up something similar in QuickSilver, for the Mac users out there.
You're right, it's great to be able to hit a few keys and find yourself typing a note to Sandy.
Dave Ross replied on September 18, 2008 01:49 to the question "Importing google calendar" in I want Sandy:
Right now, communication between Sandy and Google Calendar only goes one way. Sandy can generate an iCal feed of your appointments that Google Calendar can read. You can find instructions for setting this up in Sandy's help pages.
People have been asking for the other way around, having Sandy remind us about our Google Calendar events. In fact, it came up at the Sandy Town Hall this afternoon. I'd suggest stopping in next week and talking to Rael about it. Let him know this is a feature you'd really like to see.

That definitely sounds like it should work! Here's instructions on sending text messages to & from email addresses from a Sprint phone: http://support.sprint.com/doc/sp11097...
It doesn't look to me like Sprint charges anything extra for this service, but everyone should check with their mobile provider before doing this, especially before heavy use.
Dave Ross replied on September 05, 2008 13:47 to the question "Is it possible to specify a title for a new bookmark?" in I want Sandy:
Alternately, you can set your URL up as a todo instead of a bookmark:
Remember to buy tacos http://www.tacobell.com @todo
Sandy will parse the URL out and put it in the todo's "url" field. But, then it's going to take up a slot in your todos and show up on the Daily Digest.
Dave Ross replied on September 04, 2008 23:22 to the question "sandy through text message or voicemail ?" in I want Sandy:
Lifehacker had a recent post about free Jott alternatives. Unfortunately, none of them look like they'd interface with Sandy without some special scripting or tying multiple services together.
My suggestion, and what I'm going to be doing myself, is to click the tiny little link on the bottom of the monthly Jott plan page for their pay-as-you-go options. My Jotts to Sandy are usually 15 seconds long or less, so a $10/10 minute package would give me 40 messages to Sandy, which is several months worth.
There isn't a way to send Sandy text messages directly, but I have heard there is a way to send SMS messages to Twitter, and Sandy has a Twitter interface.
Dave Ross replied on September 04, 2008 11:53 to the question "Adding my cell phone" in I want Sandy:
Ken,
Did you set up your mobile phone on Sandy's "mobile settings" page @ https://www.iwantsandy.com/settings/m... ?
Dave Ross replied on August 20, 2008 11:43 to the question "Who is funding this thing? {IWantSandy}" in I want Sandy:
Sandy is run by Values of n, the startup behind Stikkit. Actually, my understanding is that IWantSandy is just an email front-end to Stikkit.
Two years ago, Stikkit had a round of funding from First Round Captial and Sherpalo Ventures (source: http://pulse2.com/2006/12/19/more-inv...). They have a small staff, and share office space with another startup, so their overhead is low.
If I had to guess, I'd say they're still burning through that first round of funding while they grow Stikkit into a time management platform which apps like Sandy can be built around.
A comment on the question "How do I create an @todo through Jott?" in I want Sandy:
Here's the Jott confirmation from yesterday. The tags actually came through as @do @to. Might that have something to do with it?
Jott to Sandy (Sandy): Remember to add audio to the SVN presentation. Tag with To Do.
I got: Add audio to the SVN presentation. @do @to – Dave Ross, on July 09, 2008 14:38

Dave Ross replied on April 18, 2008 15:05 to the question "IWANTSANDY.com Price" in I want Sandy:
I'd much rather pay for Sandy that have ads.
"She" is exactly what I've been looking for, and I'm finally able to keep on top of my to-do list. I think Sandy's personality goes a long way...I got hooked on the "digital agent" concept back in the 90s.
I'm in total agreement with Stanislav. I want Sandy to be interesting & profitable for the developers, and I want to know she isn't just going to disappear one day when the work becomes boring.-
