How can you join a specific association?

At first i thought it was when you leveled up, but now I have and that doesn't do anything. For example, i want to become a vigilante, how do I. Also, i see other people who are level 1 who have taken (or made) no missions and earned no data points, and yet they are vigilantes or destroyers. This doesn't make much sense. Can someone answer?

I think maybe you have to be a member for more than a week.

Sometimes happens to me to, but my biggest problem is that the data points counter and level up bar don't update for awhile after i have visited a site, IS this normal? Also with the data points, does it only give you 2 data points for a new site, or for sites that you have been to before?

I can see that, but i dont't know how to access them, they arnt on the toolbar or anything.

I have been using PMOG for a few days, but i can't figure out how to use ST. Nicks. Is it just if you are a vigilante, and if so how do you become one? St. Nicks seem like a cool tool and i would like to find out how they are used.
