After the latest update to 0.9.4 the image quality. Has become substatially worse. It hasbecome very pixly. I've tried to change the video settings, butnothing works. Is this change a result of a new codec or hardcoding in the new version of boxes for apletv?Boxee 0.9.4 for AppleTV has brought bad image quality. Loads of pixels. How can this be fixed?

I haven't done this. It is just a mockup of how I would like it done...
I wish someone could make a function in Boxee, so you can see it the way my mockup show – Ctech_83, on July 08, 2009 17:30

Well I am going to reply to my own problem message. With a possible solution.
What if Boxee stores all files in the library database, with a enable/disable. And when a connection to and external drive is lost all files on this drive is set to disable. Next time it reconnects it can be enabled again. This would quicken the process.
Or is this already what Boxee does?

Re-indexes my external hard drive each time...Hi,
Well quickly about my setup.
AppleTV, With to USB Hard drives connected, and 3 hard drives from one computer over smb://
My problem is that when Boxee is on, and the connection to the smb drives over the wireless network is lost. The library correctly removes the lost media. However when the connection is restored, Boxee seem to start to re-index the movies/tv-shows, rather than auto add all for which was earlier indexed.
I haven't checked this for sure... but I notice it in "recently added" as it changes each time I enter Boxee, or loose/regain the connection to my external drives. This is quite enoying as I feel like there is always some files, that i need to correct manually.
Do anyone else have this problem?

Application: NRKNRK is the Norwegian equivelent of BBC. Most of its content is for norwegian located IP addresses only.
I believe they use windows media player stream, but they support silverlight, flip4mac, and WMP as well.
Here is an example of the feed/datastream link:

iBeech: another great idea actually... never thought about it... but quite enoying actually when an app shows but it can't be used as a result of your location.
I think this idea is similar to another one... which says that applications should be more integrated with your "localisation settings"... and they will be auto disabled if you are not located in the country that the app supports.
But it should be possible to disable/enable them manually as well.. cause some would want to use a proxy to access certain apps, but still keep the correct local settings from where you actually are located.. and not the proxy

Delete files directly in Boxee.I see that I have about 20-30 duplicate files... between my two external Hard drives, and my brothers computer...
It would be great to have the option of deleting the file, as well as deleting it from the library. Rather than having to go manually in by ftp or in windows/OS X and delete the file.
Delete option should only show if your access to the external drive have PERMISSION to delete files.

Shared library between friends. Streaming files between Boxee clients.Hi
I know this requires fast connections. And I know you can already do this by manually adding external afp/smb drives to Boxee. However it isn't to easy, without some knowledge.. of opening ports etc.. forwarding through router .. and what not..
But let say you are 5 good friends or you have Boxee in your student flat, at home and maybe even at work. You have 2 TB of media files in each location. How great would it be to just select the friend / or your other online locations. And able to add their library to yours..
PS!! Adding all friends might be a bit much, so a few core ones might be enough.
From having 2TB you might have 6TB or 10TB in my examples..
I understand this might be on the border of illegal sharing... but if this is possible. I believe it would be a great feature for Boxee.
You should be able to locally decide whether you want to share standard defintion (SD), 720p or 1080p file sizes, and whether you want to add the library of others by file quality as well. That way you can limit the file quality to your connection.
Please give your ideas to this... and contact me if there are others out there willing to share their library with me manually now..
I have 2TB++ and 20/20 Mbit connection.. and on OS X 10.5

Distinguish between a local, local network, or external network stored movie/tv-seriesDistinguish between a local, local network, or external network(internet) stored movie/tv-series.
First Boxee should distinquish between , SD, 720p and 1080p file qualities. Then if I have duplicates of any of these qualities, I should be told if the file is on local, local network drive, or external network drive (internet).
That way I am always able to watch the local version if possible, rather than using an external source which might fall down while watching. e.g ( Computer is turned off, or connection to server is lost etc)-
