How about categories for people I'm following (and followers)?

here's what I would like:
1) the ability to create categories
(family, closefriends, extended, work, news, etc)

2) the ability to suspend device updates on/off by category
(off news)
(off extended)
(on all)

3) filter updates by category when reviewing on home page, or in readers

4) maybe update or direct message by category
(d family christmas dinner is at 6!)
(d closefriends friday night movie my house!)
(u closefriends my house friday 5001 franklin ave, 90027)

5) directmessage to multiple categories
(d family,closefriends I'm sick, is anyone around who can help take me to doctor?)

having this feature will enable me to have more users, and keep it manageable
I'm having trouble managing tweets starting at 80 following, my phone is going off with tweets.
