Yeah, I noticed that too ... I do have visible checkins at the second location you mentioned (at least I see them when I'm logged in)
The only thing that I can think of is there is another location in the area that I have set the privacy at - I don't remember doing this though - nor can I find another location to check in to ...
Thanks again for your assistance.

Oh, you don't seem impatient at all, we appreciate your understanding. :) It's kind of odd because this is the page where all your checkins are going:
http://brightkite.com/places/7000d188...
Note that there are no options for sticky privacy settings on that page. Then there is this one:
http://brightkite.com/places/6fae749c...
Which has none of your checkins, but it has the "privacy at the place" button.

benaud, we're still trying to figure out what's going on here. We've attempted to replicate the problem and haven't had much luck thus far. This is going to take a bit more time on our part, so please bear with us.
I did come across another place page for the same location:
http://brightkite.com/places/6fae749c...
Try checking in there and see if you still have the same problem.

Hi,
I've tried some further troubleshooting, but nothing I do seems to be able to reset the privacy settings at/around this location.
Is there anyway my privacy settings can be reset on the backend?? (I don't even mind if my account and everything in it is reset or deleted and recreated.
I'd love to be able to have checkin's at this location pubic again.
Thanks

Please note that Ping is still in Beta and many new features are coming and the service is being updated daily. While I cannot comment if SMS is coming, I can note that it has been discussed. – Ryan, on August 31, 2008 16:35
