I'm just saying that you're posting the same screenshot over and over, and it's pretty clear what it is at this point - a HTTP Authentication request. (It's not really an error, rather a request.) I'm not trying to sidetrack the issue here, just pointing out that you've made this page nearly 1000 pixels longer by posting the SAME screenshot six times, when we are all clear what it looks like. I didn't miss any details, rather I never bothered to read through all of the replies; I assumed the text must be as repetitive as the screenshot you keep posting.

The idea of annoying other people with the problem you have just to frustrate them into helping you is NOT how you get help with a problem. Nor is accusing the people who are trying to help you of things. This is a community-driven help site, not a site where everyone does whatever they can to help you.

This problem could be caused by anything, though I agree that it is most likely a bookmarked feed. This is not really a Twitter problem, rather Twitter is doing exactly what it's supposed to do - ask you for a password before giving someone access to your data via an API The problem is most likely that you bookmarked a feed from the API, and Firefox is trying to refresh it. Twitter can do nothing about it, short of writing a plugin to delete bookmarks you shouldn't have added in the first place, if this is indeed the case.

Open your bookmark manager and do a search for "https://twitter.com" (no quotes). One of those is probably your problem.

Once again, I emphasize, if this does not solve the problem and you continue to accuse me of trying to sidetrack the discussion and spam it yourself with the same image, I will no longer be willing to have a discussion with you. The way you are acting is akin to someone trying to remove adware from your computer just to help you out, and you screaming "CLICK HERE" every 15 seconds just so they will know what it is like.

That would be really hard to do in Javascript, but it's probably still possible. Personally, I think it shouldn't disable the submit button at all. It can try to submit using AJAX, then if it's too long, throw an error.

What site are you actually seeing this on? Is it actually twitter.com or some third-party site?

The screenshots really aren't needed. We all know what a HTTP Authentication popup looks like.

This support site is not created by them, it's third-party. You could also get help for a number of other sites here.

That said, try sending them a DMCA takedown notice for your information. Presuming it's all yours (i.e. photos, things you've written) it's illegal for them not to take it down in that situation.

Not so much fully-functional markup, but I've seen people use things like *asterisks* and _underscores_ to draw attention to specific words. Just some simple regex to replace *something* with italics and _something_ with bold would be easy to do, and small things like that would defiantly help at least a few people. (/\*.*\*/\<em\>\1\<\/em\>/ and /\_.*\_/\<strong\>\1\<\/strong\>/ respectively, would do it in PERL)

I've seen that problem with IE7. It seems to provide an incorrect mime-type for image files sometimes.

You might actually have to wait a tiny bit longer. There's a few problems with the servers right now while we move them to new facilities. But when they're moved and functioning you'll get higher reliability and faster speed!

I think that's something to consider, but I, even as a user, am not sure something like a "top friends" is a good idea. Maybe renaming the area to something like "Random 20 Friends" would help convey the idea, especially to new members. IDK.

That's the point. There's no real "Top friends" feature or anything, so it randomly selects the top friends. Maybe they'll add something better later.
