In addition to this, I'd like to be able to specify a timeout. So, I don't really want to get a notification about someone checking in at Starbucks across town because I checked in there this morning and it's now 8:00 PM. I don't know what the timeout would be (I stay in some spots longer than others.) but it's something to consider.-

Jamie Phelps asked a question in OtherInbox on July 15, 2009 14:21:
Can I specify more Recipient Addresses for this Mailbox?I'd like to be able to alias mailboxes to point to another mailbox and have that mailbox handle various tasks associated with it. This is partly prompted by this thread: http://getsatisfaction.com/otherinbox...
So, in that scenario, say I have a mailbox called Travel and I want to have email addresses like orbitz@myoib, travelocity@myoib, etc that pipe into Travel. I didn't see a way to do that. If I send a new email to an address not associated with that mailbox, create a new one. So, if I book a flight with Southwest and send it to LUV@myoib, it won't show in Travel because it's not yet associated. When I see the email, it should be a few clicks to set it to dump those emails into travel from then on.
Here's the advantage, and how I would envision using this. I've set up a forward and filter as discussed in the other thread with Gmail. Rather than creating a filter for each potential email address I might have travel plans sent to, I would just create one for Travel and then any message that gets dumped into Travel would be forwarded to this address. Note that the mailbox that it is in and not the address it was sent to should be reflected in the forwarded email for streamlining the process. But, I still get the advantage of having separate addresses for all those services so I can see who's contributing to spam.
I hope what I'm asking for makes sense. To my mind, all OIB is is a bunch of email aliases, so this is a natural progression in my view.

Thanks for the helpful response. Well, I use OIB (among other things) in order to have specific mailboxes for my various travel sites. So, orbitz@myoib, travelocity@myoib, etc. I would like to set each of those mailboxes to automatically forward to my Dopplr and TripIt accounts for no-hassle adding of my trips to those services. (I'm not 100% sure which one will win my loyalties at this point.)
With services, I see basically two patterns. The first requires that you have the email address that you are sending the message from on file with the recipient service. This is how TripIt works and how they use a single address for receiving messages. The second uses a pseudo-random email address that is created for you by the service. This is how Dopplr works as well as other services like 37Signals Backpack.
I certainly understand the need to not be a haven for spammers to just forward email willy nilly. Perhaps limiting the number of addresses for forwarding that you can have in an account could make it less attractive to spammers? Even a reasonably high number like 100 would allow the users to effectively use the service with a wide range of other services but that many email addresses wouldn't be very attractive to a spammer. Of course, bot generated accounts and emailing could thwart that, but I'm just throwing out an idea.
I hope that helps.

I want to forward messages to emails addresses I can't confirmI want to forward messages to emails addresses I can't confirm such as TripIt and Dopplr. I have my trip itineraries and such come into OtherInbox and I want to automatically forward from those inboxes to my TripIt and Dopplr so that those trips get added there automatically.
Jamie Phelps asked a question in Gnolia on December 11, 2008 21:21:
How do I give Ma.gnolia the missing oauth_token Parameter?I've been working with Jon Crosby's OAuthConsumer framework for Cocoa to access the Ma.gnolia API. When I get to the Authorizing the Request Token stage, I follow the code example, but Ma.gnolia informs me that I'm missing the oauth_token parameter. Can anyone shed some light on how to pass it in? POST? GET? What does an oauth_token look like?
TIA

Why does tab from twitter textarea not go to submit button rather than obliterating my tweet?This happens to me just about every time I try to Twitter from MySkitch.
To reproduce:
* Open picture page on MySkitch.
* Click the Twitter bit to bring up the textarea
* Enter text.
* Press [TAB]
Expected Results: Focus moves to submit input so I can press [SPACE] and submit the tweet.
Actual Results: Entire twitter form goes away. Sometimes my text remains in the textarea if I click for Twitter form again. Other times it is completely obliterated.

Tumblr Theming with External Text EditorHas anyone had success using TextMate, BBEdit, or similar for editing Tumblr themes? When I load the html page up in my browser, none of the styles I have set show up. My guess is that there is a problem with Tumblr's theming tokens interfering with the HTML interpretation. Anyone had success?

I can't preview custom html.When I edit custom html, the preview doesn't work. I have tried in both Safari and Firefox on Mac OS X with the same results. When I "Save Changes" the changes do persist, but I certainly don't want to have to actually save the changes live in order to see the results.-

I can execute shell commands from my local machine by ssh username@myserver if that helps.
Re: your p.s., I should certainly hope this is not the case since they just announced backup users. Although I did not know it was only 50GB. See here: http://wiki.dreamhost.com/V10.08_Augu...
Thanks for the response!
Jamie Phelps shared an idea in ExpanDrive on October 16, 2008 14:13:
Please allow me to specify volume size.I have set up an ExpanDrive to my Dreamhost backup user. This is good and should allow me to make better use of that space I have sitting around. The only problem is that ExpanDrive reports a volume size of 8TB, which I can only assume is the size of the disk on Dreamhost's server. I don't get all of that and currently have a maximum disk space of around 650GB. If I could set the limit on my ExpandDrive volume, I could avoid the risk of running over my storage limit.
