I'm glad it's not just me. I had to restore all my files a couple of months ago and wondered if it was connected with that. At the moment, I'm have to use another Twitter app to follow people. Coupled with the fact that anyone (not just followers)can send me a DM (I thought this feature was going to be disabled) and maybe you can understand why I'm using the other app more even though Twinkle has a good UI

Error message when trying to follow people in Twinkle.I'm not sure if this has been since the update, but I'm no longer able to follow new people on Twinkle. When I click on follow, I keep getting a message saying "could not authorize you. Please register your Tapulous Profile". As I've got 3 different Tapulous apps on my iphone, my profile is already registered and I was previously able to just tap on the follow link to add to people I follow.-

Twinkle update missing my @ replies in nearby/I downloaded the twinkle 1.3 update this morning and am totally confused. Only a small fraction of the people I'm following are listed as friends even though I'm still getting all the updates in home. Even more confusing is the fact that none of my @replies from me or to me are appearing in my nearby page which makes it harder to follow what was said. I can see @tweets to/from other users, so why can't I see my own?
The map is a slightly interesting feature but would be more useful if the distance matched the one on the nearby page.

22 days later and still nothing. Is there a reason for the delay?? – DalekKiller, on October 06, 2008 10:32

Being followed by a large number of spam followers is far more annoying. I've had to protect my updates to stop them and I need the email notification to let me know when I've got a genuine follower. If you've not experienced 10 followers in 1 hour all with the same ad which can range from lame to pornographic, you will have no idea what it's like.

Is Twinkle for chatting or just mini-blogs?I've seen quite a few posts from people who seem to object to the chatter in Twinkle. Okay, when I first looked into Twinkle/Twitter all those weeks ago, it said something about answering the question: what are you doing? in less than 140 words (or about that). While I can appreciate that local screens can be dominated by two or three people for a short time, surely the object is to get people chatting and sharing?
If Twitter/Twinkle is just supposed to be for "blogging" (one user's recent complaint) then it's not going to be much fun. The whole chatting to people around the world and finding new people near me is what makes Twinkle exciting. If I'm just supposed to be blogging then there are other places I can go that won't limit the number of words per post.
Sorry if this is turning into a bit of a rant, but it does annoy me to see people saying how terrible all the chat is when everyone seems to be having fun.

Count me in as well, I'd love to be able to delete old messages so it looks tidier. – DalekKiller, on September 03, 2008 15:16
