yes i have had this problem too, which is proving problematic as i have been promoting the idea to a client and now find that i can't actually add their page for them. any solution would be helpful. i'll add a link to this page to the facebook profile of tweetdeck in the hope of a faster resolution.-

happy to help richard, i am looking forward to being able to manage all of my networking from one interface, particularly as support for facebook and myspace interaction is now so great with the latest release of tweetdeck.
operating system is win xp and tweetdeck is latest release, which at the time of writing is v0.30.5 i think.

i like the idea but im a little unsure how the user will know to right click without any visual cues? if someone is new to this kind of environment you are introducing another behaviour that they will have to adopt, in addition to tweetdeck's native behaviours, and for that reason alone i fear this method would fail usability testing.
although i'm a little unclear about how the secondary ping menu operates in your illustration, i don't see an issue with it in principal. that said, i would like to see it launched from an additional button alongside the existing buttons (fbk etc) at the top of the user interface instead.
congratulations on getting this far though, have you had the add on working successfully?
look forward to sean's feedback

ok so i've answered my own question here by taking the plunge and posting to them anyway. and yes, the two options are as suspected; personal and profile page, thus encouraging a choice of either or both. it wasn't clear to me, and others i have spoken to, that the option/choice to retain the personal profile capability was there if you installed the application for your page. i am pleased to say it is and i guess this is now resolved.
i hope others find this post useful when pondering the same thing... ;-)

dan asked a question in Ping.fm on May 11, 2009 08:28:
facebook 'page' status now in place of personal profile status?i like the fact that ping.fm now supports updates on 'facebook' pages, however, before i remove ping from my personal facebook page i thought i'd ask the following question: does the ping facebook 'page' update setting now prevent me from updating my personal page?! ideally i would want to have the choice whether i update my page OR my personal profile. the solution you have presented suggests that i can update the page IN PLACE of the personal profile, which i think presents the same problems that we originally had, just the other way around?!
