Here is an update to the error codes. (There seems to be no option to modify the topic directly)
A0000018 – server failure, “Upload Failed”. It happens when the client has some unreliable connection, typically a wireless connection. You could retry by connecting to a wired network.

A0000012 now is not indicating a failure anymore.-

Dan Hou replied on November 17, 2009 23:55 to the question "error A0000018" in Microsoft Live Labs:
Hi Marj, this is an UploadFailed error, which means the attempt and retries of uploading photos to our website failed, usually due to the network issue. You could find more information here: http://getsatisfaction.com/livelabs/t...
In addition, could you provide some more information from the .log file for this synth, which could be found at "%tmp%/photosynther" folder. Please paste the content in this thread so that we could take a deeper look at this problem. Thanks!
Dan Hou replied on August 24, 2009 16:51 to the question "Copyright in the viewer?" in Microsoft Live Labs:
Hi Harald, the Copyright option you selected in the synther dialog not reflected in the viewer is because you have the CopyRight field in the image properties specified as "2009 Harald Pfaffermayr" for every image, which gets uploaded and the copyright you selected in synther is ignored. However, it is not a valid Creative Common license url for the viewer to display the corresponding icon.
The workaround for this before we have a fix is to clear the CopyRight field of properties for all your images and then select the desired copyright option in the synther. Please let me know if this solves your problem.

Dan Hou replied on January 24, 2009 20:53 to the question "i get a falied error (A0000013) - what does that mean" in Microsoft Live Labs:
The error happens when it retries to commit a already commited synth. http://getsatisfaction.com/livelabs/t... . Was your synth in fact successfully uploaded?

Or, did you see something like "NavToolkit exception: xx, line xx" somewhere before "CollectionWriter.cpp(2130) hr(80004005)" ? – Dan Hou, on January 22, 2009 19:59

It looks like most of people are having this error after selecting photos. Are you still getting this error? Are those photos located on your disk or on some share? Are they all larger than 48x48? – Dan Hou, on January 22, 2009 19:41
