Hi X,
Sorry for the inconvenience, we'll try fixing the bug asap. Yes, we do have interns (Grooveguppy <->dan.pua@escapemg.com so I can hand it to them? Thanks!

Dan Pua replied on November 03, 2009 23:42 to the problem "song upload applet does not load" in Grooveshark Artists:
Hi,
We're not using p2p networks anymore, so it kinda obsoletes Sharkbyte. We've tested Chrome in Windows Vista. I'll ask QA to try using Chrome in Ubuntu. So far, it should work for Firefox in Ubuntu (most of our developers actually use Ubuntu as their primary workstation).
Recently, we released a downloadable desktop application available for VIP members only, implemented in Adobe AIR. I'm not entirely familiar if AIR is compatible with Ubuntu though.
Keep me updated if you are able to upload your songs. You can always send me the songs so I can upload them myself if you still have problems uploading.
Have a nice day!
Dan Pua replied on November 03, 2009 17:13 to the problem "song upload applet does not load" in Grooveshark Artists:
Hi,
Do you mind adding additional information, such as what browser you are using?
Also, have you tried using the public uploader from here:
http://www.grooveshark.com/upload/login
The public uploader is available for non-artists, but the system would still be able to find your songs if you upload your songs tagged with the correct ID3 metadata for the artist and album.
If you would like, I can also personally upload them for you if you send it to dan.pua@escapemg.com so you can start sharing your music while we figure out the problem.
Thank you for using Grooveshark.
Dan Pua replied on October 27, 2009 09:59 to the question "Analytics showing false report" in Grooveshark Artists:
Hi Andrew,
Once a day, we tally all songs played from Grooveshark that were played for over 30 secs. Anything played less than that we consider as a skip and do not add to the total numbers. This is so that you know when someone played your song, the listener actually took time to listen to your song, and not just clicked on it by accident.
If you have more questions or would like to further clarify anything, you can reach me personally at dan.pua@escapemg.com and I'd be happy to help.
Dan Pua replied on October 13, 2009 20:00 to the question "renew ad? after views target has been reached" in Grooveshark Artists:
Hi Heather,
Thank you for your feedback. There isn't an easy way to renew an ad right now, so you have to create a new ad in order to promote it. If you would like, I suggest creating an autoplay campaign because you get a free ad along with the campaign and more for your money. If something isn't clear to you or you would like to ask more information, you can reach me at dan.pua@escapemg.com.
We will make it easier for you to extend ads in the future. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Dan Pua replied on October 07, 2009 12:56 to the question "What about bands with releases on more than one label?" in Grooveshark Artists:
Hi,
Grooveshark Artists allows multiple users to manage the same band, so it is still possible for previous labels/band members/band manager to look into a band's profile using their personal Grooveshark account and manage their content if they have the right to do so. If for any reason a user (ie. previous label, etc.) loses his rights to manage an artist, we can remove that artist from his list of manageable accounts.

Do you mind sending me your artist name so I can take a look at your songs? You can also reach me at dan.pua@escapemg.com.
Dan Pua replied on October 05, 2009 16:08 to the problem "Cannot upload songs" in Grooveshark Artists:
Hi Rok,
The checkbox cannot be checked because the "title" and "album" metadata is empty. If you double-click the empty fields, you can enter the proper metadata, and afterwards you can check the checkbox so you can upload them.
Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry if the interface isn't very helpful, and we'll try to make it more user-friendly in the next version.

Hi Adrian,
I apologize for the frustration. Sometimes the uploader isn't able to upload some files with unsupported sample or bit rates, and it's very hard for us tell without being able to look at your files.
Do you mind sending me your files? My email is dan.pua@escapemg.com. I can upload them for you if you'd like. I'm not sure why your account isn't able to upload your image. Can you give me your artist name so I can check?.
We really appreciate your feedback.

Dan Pua replied on August 25, 2009 16:20 to the problem "Deleting uploaded songs of mine." in Grooveshark Artists:
Hi Ali,
You have a Grooveshark Artist account, right? Do you mind re-uploading your songs from here:
http://artists.grooveshark.com/catalo...
The uploader in Grooveshark Artists will try to upload your songs. If the system determines a conflict (because you are uploading the same mp3 file, but with different metadata), it will prompt moderators to look at the uploaded files you are claiming. We do checks to prevent fraud accounts from claiming songs by Coldplay or Pink. If we approve your claim, the metadata will be replaced and you can edit or remove them as you see fit with your Grooveshark Artist account.
Alternatively, you can also forward me your music and I can get someone to personally upload them for you, or select which songs you want removed. My email is dan.pua@escapemg.com.
Thank you for your cooperation and support. If you have any problems, just let me know.

Hi Danny,
There was a bug that was preventing users from searching everyone in the network. It should be fixed now, so you should be able to search people with just their first or last names. Here's an example:

Thank you for feedback.
Dan Pua replied on August 19, 2009 22:03 to the question "Uploaded songs out of order, how to easily fix?" in Grooveshark Artists:
Hey Torley,
Right now, I don't have a way to let you batch edit songs, but I can edit the metadata for you. Would you mind sending me a word document of your discography with the correct metadata and track numbers so I can fix them for you? Just email it to me at dan.pua@escapemg.com.
I don't know how easy to implement a drag and drop feature, but I'll forward the feature request to the design team. Thank you for your feedback.
Dan Pua replied on August 19, 2009 21:43 to the question "Uploaded songs out of order, how to easily fix?" in Grooveshark Artists:
Hi Torley,
You can change the order of tracks in your album by editing the song metadata in the "My Music" page in the "Catalogue" tab. Just click on the pencil button beside the song you want to edit, and change the Track Number to change the order. You can also change the song title and album this way.
Here's a screenshot:

Thank you for your feedback, and we hope to meet your expectations.
