Internet connection is good 10MB/s Virgin Media Connection.

Not aware of any traffic shaping they are doing, and everything has worked ok for the last month, so unless they have made a change today with regard to this I would expect to have noticed the problem earlier.

My guess:

it's a quirk of the volume normalisation option in the latest version. Just found that if the sound cuts out and i untick/tick and apply the sound comes back for a while. The problem does occur again, but if i tick/untick and apply again the sound comes back.

I disabled hardware acceleration by unticking the box and managed to get through one song, but on the second track the same occurred, so doesn't appear to have fixed it.

If I hit play/pause I get a tiny burst of what sounds like static each time before the sounds disappears again.

Spotify sound cuts out during track playback

Spotify has been working pretty fine for me for weeks. However, today when playing tracks after a seemingly random amount of time (sometimes seconds, sometimes minutes) the sound cuts out on the track. According to the progress bar on the track it continues to play, however, no sound is heard. When the next track starts the sound will come back, but then switch off again at some point during this track.This occurs on all music - new tracks I've not listened to and ones that have worked fine previously.
