It seems that MobileSafari only wants to play nice in full-screen mode when all the web app links are done using AJAX, so we've temporarily removed the full-screen setting for now (you *may* need to re-save the webclip to your home screen if you continue to see the full-screen behavior).
We're updating the mobile site and its iPhone-specific features along with the rest of the site for the next version, so we'll be able to bring it back properly.

We're looking into this - is there any other info you can give us about what exactly is happening? Especially with the mobile version, since it should work just about anywhere...
If you can take some screenshots and add them here (use the "Add an image" button in the comment form) that would help as well.

This was bugging me too, but I (stupidly) never thought to mention it here :)
So, since you guys fixed this, there's another variation of the exact same problem (uneven margins around company logos) on the right side of the Dashboard view on users' profile pages. I've put a screenshot of how it renders in Safari up on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/danrubin...
Glad you guys appreciate pixel-anality - it's all part of getting *everything* right :)
A comment on the question "privacy settings and twitter" in Brightkite:
I would also like to strongly support the idea that publication settings to Twitter can be tweaked in a more flexible manner. You really should be able to keep BK in private mode but still post regular messages to Twitter. I hope some kind of better solution for this can be found in the future. – BijanK, on May 17, 2008 07:29

I thought that was the way it currently worked. I've been in private mode and had notes I've posted show up on Twitter, and I have my 'Everyone' setting set to 'City'. People who follow me on Twitter can see my notes, but only the general location that they were posted in, which suits me just fine. – digitalsprawl, on May 11, 2008 12:47

Good to see the iPhone version of BrightKite is coming.
You said on Twitter (http://twitter.com/brightkite/statuse...): "...we want people to test out the web and SMS stuff first". That's great, but how many of your users actually are from within the US / have an operator you guys support? I'm from Belgium, and would love a lightweight mobile version to quickly update my being and doing.
Great work all!-

Dan Rubin's reply to "Where is the iPhone-friendly version?" was just promoted to the most useful! Josh Pyles and 2 other people think it's one of the best replies.
Looking forward to it as well - suggestion: instead of doing a specific iPhone site and dealing with device detection, why not create a mobile site and provide an iPhone-specific stylesheet? For reference, see http://mymilemarker.com/m
That also allows you to use a single URI for mobile devices, rather than being platform- or browser-specific (e.g. http://m.brightkite.com/ would work nicely).
Having fun with Brightkite so far, now I just need to get more people in South Florida to use it...
