Keeping a ventilation environment is very important, don't put your laptop on the bed or arond some of hot equipment ,then give you two advices for reference :
1>Chose a laptop cooler under your laptop;
2>Buy a spare vgp-bpl2c battery to replace it.

I have the same problem with my battery. The battery life was just a little over one year . I have to buy a new replacement Dell inspireon 1520 battery, at the same times ,add one laptop cooler.
