ZOHO without hijacking or going to a new tab!!Very nice. Every time you guys are able to make apps run in windows on the webtop instead of hijacking the webtop it makes the webtop more and more useful and this one is a huge win. Now I have productivity apps that run right on the webtop.
Great Job!!!!!

Cool new icons and linksI love the new icons for the different mail and zoho apps. I think these are a great addition. I especially like the fact that these apps no longer hijack the webtop. But, because I am a tester and I am never satisfied with anything :) it makes me sad that they open in a new tab/window. I know there are technical issues with this but to me anytime I am taken away from the webtop it diminishes the need/usefulness for the webtop. I can do the same thing with bookmarks in my browser, why do I need the webtop? Just my humble opinion. By the way, the icons and links are cool.

I agree with your assessment of the image that I included and I wasn't really suggesting that the GoEveryware Tag Nav look like that, but I am suggesting that it could look a lot nicer. The image above was the first "Tag Cloud" image that I ran across on a quick web search. Even the "Popular Tags" box on the "My Open Places" main screen looks better: where the tags are in a shaded box. Which begs the question, what is the point of the "Tag Nav" screen when you see the same information on the main "My Open Places" screen? (Just a "Devils Advocate" type of question)
DarrenB replied on September 22, 2008 15:19 to the discussion "So I like the new icons but what is Tag Nav?" in GoEverywhere:
I think Tag Nav is like a Tag Cloud where it lists all of the tags that you have added to My Open Places and makes the text of the tag larger based on the relative number of items that use that tag. It is a visual way to see which tags are most used by you and help you get to bookmarked items in a quicker more organized way.

Tag Nav...I think Tag Nav is a cool thing to include but it looks kinda boring. Hopefully there is a plan to spruce it up a bit. Since it is a takeoff on the Tag Cloud idea is there plans to at least place it in a cloud like some that you see on the internet (see the attached picture). Another cool idea would be to show something like the 5 most accessed items from the tag in an AJAX pop-up when you mouse over the tag.

OneLogin IssueIf you have not done any activity that used the OneLogin it will time out and you have to login again, that is fine. However, I was trying to go to "My Safe Files" and after I provided my credentials and logged in again I was taken to my "My Safe Places" instead of continuing on to Box. It was not a big deal because all I had to do was click on the Box icon in "My Safe Places" and I was logged right in. I just wish it would have taken me where I wanted to go originally.

Window TitlesWindow Titles for My Safe Places and My Open Places need to report the site/content of the window. This IS the case for Feedback, and Instant Messenger. If you have more than two My Open Places or My Safe Places open it is difficult to find the window you want to use. Take a look at my screen shot. Before you say that no one will do that I did :) and did it for most of the day, trying to use the desktop for everything I did in the browser.
A comment on the question "What do you think of the new webtop background?" in GoEverywhere:
I think that is why allowing users to add their own image would be so nice. Then if it looks bad it is not your fault :) – DarrenB, on August 26, 2008 23:20

Task Button Text TruncationOk, this is a picky picky little thing but it has been bugging me for a while so I will report it. On my webtop (where I use a fairly wide resolution) the text on the task buttons is truncated with an ellipses (...) even though there is plenty of space for the text to fit on the button. The text should truncate only if it does not fit on the button. See my screenshot.

Things I like.
1) Responsive, clean, attractive Windowed interface. Feels like I really am at a desktop.
2) Single, secure login
3) Integration with Box and Meebo.
4) Online bookmarks (ok, I know that was 4)
What Bugs me
1) Hijacking. To me this single thing distracts and frustrates me more than anything. If I know I am going to a site that will hijack the webtop I just go back to the browser and go from there so that the webtop does not shut down, kinda defeats the purpose.
What would I most like to see.
1) Better integrated office apps (Google docs or preferably ZOHO). Accessible from it's own icon on the webtop.
2) More customization: webtop background, My Safe Places, My Safe Files, icons on the desktop
Overall impression
I really like the concept. I think it has great potential and with some more time and development I think it can grow into something really useful.

What do you think of the WebTop?So, most of us have been looking at this for a week or more. I am curious what everyone thinks. Reply to this with your top three favorite things, top three things that bug you, and what 2 or 3 things you would most like to see.

Minor Windows Focus IssueCannot give focus to a Window by clicking in the main window area. Tile two windows so you can see a link on the main part of one window even when that window is behind another window. Click in the main window area of the window behind, even on a link in that window. Clicking in the window will launch the link but not give focus to the window. This is a minor issue but somewhat annoying to me. Works correctly with normal windows in MS Windows. I can give focus to the window by using the title or the status bar.

YouTube display issueInteresting display issue with YouTube. I added YouTube to My Safe Places and they browsed to Youtube and started watching a video. I then brought another window (My Open Place) to the front and gave it focus. The YouTube video continued to play over the top of the new window. See the attached screenshot.
