DataWraith started following the question "What occurs if the data files are placed on an external drive that becomes disconnected?" in Wuala.
DataWraith replied on April 19, 2009 14:00 to the question "was bedeutet der Upload-Traffic wenn ich keine Files hochlade?" in Wuala:
DataWraith replied on April 15, 2009 17:26 to the question "Brute Force Angriff auf Wuala" in Wuala:
Hallo,
DataWraith replied on April 09, 2009 14:53 to the problem "rsync: writefd_unbuffered failed to write 4 bytes" in Wuala:
The update to version 247 (Linux) seems to have made this much worse.
The release notes mention that Wuala doesn't start more than 100 transactions anymore, which means rsync aborts with the error the original poster mentions after processing around 100-200 small-ish files (seems to vary a bit), instead of the more than thousand it managed before.
It seems that Wuala does not have a way to stall rsync, which, being designed for synchronization over the internet, would probably wait patiently until Wuala is done with the pending transactions, but instead somehow rsync's access to the FSI is interrupted, causing the Broken pipe error. :-/-

Thanks for the tip with the rsync options! I didn't know of these, only using --whole-file to slightly improve things. – DataWraith, on December 13, 2008 09:43
DataWraith replied on December 05, 2008 08:23 to the problem "Hanging Filesystem integration (Linux)" in Wuala:
Hm, I'm not storing files directly in Wuala, I mostly sync them there with unison or rsync.
I guess my "celebration" was a bit premature though -- the problem still crops up after a while, it just takes two or three times as long (as many file accesses?) as before, which seems to mostly suffice for me to sync my files most of the time.
