Time avaliable calculation in Google Calendarallow calendar to help us see exactly how much time we have to be productive in a given day/ work week/weekend/full week. I find thta knowing this really helps me to keep my self moving if i ever start procrastinating and would make an excellent GCal feature. it would have to take into account our daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, habits and help us to assing time taken up by each one. This will greatly help people be more aware of their time avalibility

Labs for Google Calendar...nuff said..just do itlabs would bring new functionality to google calendar not seen before and cause all calendar apps online to be pushed forward to be more innovative in order to compete.
A comment on the idea "Easier access to OtherInbox" in OtherInbox:
Tool bars are just down right annoying.... seriously find a way to integrate it into normal communication with it pretty much being out of site out of mind. Tool bars do nothing in my opinion but clutter up our browser more than we really need them. something that small as i suggested would be perfect, if you have to, work with google to allow this sort of persionilization. – Dave, on November 07, 2008 19:50

declutter gcal, and labs for gcalhelp declutter our Gcals by creating the ability to declutter similiar or equivalent events from our calendar. for example, i subscribe to several calendars as well as my own, on days like november 4th all these calendars say " Election" or something with the word election in it. i do not need to see the same event 4 times in my calendar especially because it blocks my view of other events when i look at that day in the month view ( which i need to view daily because it helps me plan ahead..if i cant see potential events that need planning...this can cause a problem)
Also, create google calendar labs like their are in gmail...i think a lot could come of it that would be amazing.-

Easier access to OtherInboxIt would be amazing if a little icon showed up in the top bar of the gmail screen and linked with gmail allowing us to simply click on it and quickly go to the otherinbox interface.
Dave posted a topic that has since been removed from OtherInbox. see the change log

Dave shared an idea in Get Satisfaction on October 08, 2008 05:58:
Add info below each company's/ products namemake it more clear at the top of each screen under their name what they actually do/offer. Get satisfaction can also function as a good way to discover other products and companies in a sense if they did this better

Productivity Features wanted..!!!2.5 Things below ......
****Allow us to customize the way our gmail/google acount presents it self to us during various times of the day.
I bet there are people out there who start using things such as Greader, and other services, that distract them during times they should be productive. To improve this, allow us to choose wheather various parts of gmail/google present them selves to us during various times of the day. For example, i could set gmail to hide all buttons at the top(except for 1 or two i wish to see) until a designated time. or simply tell it to hide them indefinitely. it helps eliminate distractions.
****Make a Keyboard short cut for various Google services from within gmail/google.
For example, say an email comes up and we want to add an event/modify an event/notify attendees...etc...etc of something. Allow us to type in "date" quickly or "cal" quickly for either Gcal, or a tiny window with Gcal functionality, to pop up and allow us to complete our work in that sense.
****Allow us to set certain keyboard shortcuts to not only bring up certain google services, such as Gcal, and Greader. but once we are done looking at it have it close the window.
For example, it be nice if we were able to type "cal" or "date" in to have a small(or normal sized) gCal window pop up. Then once we hit save, or i think its add, event- have the screen just close automatically and focus our attention back on our email.

Allow us to attatch documents/emails/images,etc to tasks. Also, allow us to hide certain tags... i use a list title groceries to not only list the food i have in my place to make meals, but to also retag certain items as "buy" when i need to buy them @ the store. I also tag them with a certain location of a certain supermarket where i buy them, but it be nice if i could hide the buy tags, or at least put them at the bottom, so i could only view the items i have tagged as "meals" so i can choose wheather want to eat out, or at home from any where and figure out what i have in my place.

Dave replied on October 03, 2008 23:41 to the idea "Hi iGooglers" in Google:
The way our minds work are very different and range in many ways....it might be good for google to consider developing several different ways of interacting with people in the sense that one format is more visual, another is more auditory...essentially they should be researching the ways to design their system more to make us be able to get in gmail etc, and then get our stuff done, and then get out.
other than that ----in Gcal....while you can schedule events, it think it would be helpful to make it possible to take into account travel time to and from a destination. The Gcal would have to be more integrated with Gmaps of course, but if this was done well it would enable some one to plan out their day in such a way that they know exactly where they will be at what time. Essentially the travel time feature would have to consider where some one would be starting from, wheather they have access to Cars, public transit, bike, walking...etc(forms of transit) and use the average amount of time it takes under current conditions to estimate what time we must leave an event in order to make it to our next appointment.
also, obesity is epideminc in a sense...people need to eat healthier...sooo how could google assist this. --- : ) --- well i suggest google sit down with all the major grocery store companies and talk them into pushing the idea of creating a google powered service that indexes the various food items that people purchase.
I belive the companies that create the debit card machine hardware would have to be involved because essentially google would have to recieve a list of each individual item that is purchased at either a grocery store...and eventually all fast food stores and even possibly little mom and pop stores. The list should include such information as
The type of food item
price
location purchased
nutritional facts
with this type of info google could create a service that could monitor the sort of food that a person or family are consuming and not only could the service use the incoming information to suggest changes in a families diet in order to become more healthy, but they could also use the information of price and size to really create competiton between grocery chains by allowing them to compete online and showing the average price for certain items at various stores.
i think my last idea could be extended even further as RFID chips are eventually introduced more and more into society.
tell me what you think---
