Has the facebook application been withdrawn?I have just noticed that my plazes are not showing up in my facebook feed. The application is no longer installed and I can't find any application using the search strings plazes|plaze|plazer.
Have you done anything?

Plaze creation by SMS doesn't workI tried to create a new Plaze via SMS from a UK network over the weekend. This failed. I did not receive an acknowledgment. I sent the message,
"At Royal Southern Yacht Club in Port Hamble"
from a UK network. I have since created the plaze using the web interface. I often, (usually), find that plaze creation by sms fails; I have had this occur on a number of occasions.
Dave Levy replied on September 12, 2008 18:10 to the question "Mergin plazes" in Plazes:
merging means that comments, pictures and tags are available to all visitors, you don't have to go looking to see if there are duplicates.
There remains the problem of those who want to say that they are either
at Heathrow Airport
at Heathrow Airport T3
at Heathrow Airport, Virgin Lounge
or even travel through them. This will become more important as finding out what your friends are doing via phone in real time becomes possible.

Is there a blog affinity badge?I'd like to place a blog affinity badges in my blog sidebar. It needs to be smaller than the i'm here widget. I'd like it to point at my home page. All I need is the graphic really as I control the html anyway.
Is there an image avaialble somewhere?
Dave Levy replied on September 11, 2008 09:07 to the question "Mergin plazes" in Plazes:
You need to have a merge plaze function.
Here's another example, Edinburgh Airport has 4 entries. While what you say about people doing what they want is fair, this means that the collective wisdom about places is diminished. Maybe you should store proposals to merge until a threshold is reached (the threshold could be based on Karma if you still collect it.). Otherwise ask all visitors what they think, which cold be a bit poor if people have stoped using it.-

The ability to set a default of null would be required. – Dave Levy, on August 21, 2008 11:08

I have just suggested that this problem is solved at the other end and that filters are placed when re- reading the plazes via the web-site or feeds.
For more, see this topic, here at getsatisfaction.

We need filters in front of our feedsAs you encourage others to consume our rss/atom feeds of where we are, it becomes more and more important that you, or we place a filter in front of the feed. This would pass the message on, or discard it.
I suggest that such a filter forwards the first of day (TZ aware of course) and any change. I am considering implementing a personal filter using planetplanet or venus software but this should really by something that you implement on your servers.
These filters would eliminate duplication caused by plazers as they are put to sleep, have the lids closed, drop and recover their wifi etc. etc., or as people move from one computer to another for those of us with more than one
It seems as if your map widget and facebook applications have access to this sort of filter today.
Bonus points
You could offer several rules based filters and either ask people to turn the filters on, or change their default, which would/may lead to a lower volume of messages in the feeds, and hence lower resources within the plazes server complex and the various consumer systems.
The failure to offer this functionality/feature inhibits the adoption of some of your technology, either the feeds, or the plazer.
I've mooded myself as unsure, because I strongly believe that this would be a great improvement and its not very high up my personal project list.

twitter message lengthThe SMS messages generated by twitter can be over the 140 character length and thus deliver over two SMS messages. I have definitely seen this before twitter turned off SMS forwarding. (This may only occur if the originator defines an activity. I am not sure what happens if one is in a very long place name.)
