Worked for me, too.

Finally figured this out. before reinstalling, make sure twhirl is uninstalled. You may have to do this manually. I removed the twhirl folder from the Program Files folder. Then, I ran a registry cleaner -- I'm using RegCure -- to remove references to the program. I think you can use RegCure free on a trial basis, but there are others as well. RegCure is a pretty good deal to buy, by the way.

Then BEFORE trying to reinstall twhirl, shut down and restart. This removes any registry info from memory. I think this is where the real problem was for me. Nothing wrong with AIR per se, but something in memory was preventing the twhirl package from running.

That didn't work. Not sure what to do at this point. I ran the Twhirl installation package from my desktop after reinstalling AIR manually. Getting same error, that I need to get a new AIR file from the Author.

I think I've finally been able to uninstall both AIR and Twhirl, and will try to start over once I've run a registry cleaner. Thanks for the feedback. I'll let you know how it goes.
