Randy,
This is a system bug we have to fix. In the mean time, building on Rob's answer, if you change the view from "full" to "compressed" (see option in upper left area), you can then hover over the compressed chat and see the entire message.
Also, after the show is over, you can use this chat grabber to retrieve the entire chat sequence from any given episode: http://www.marketing-ideas.org/TalkSh...

Yes, it is possible to reference a specific episode recording in a call series. Here's how to do it:
1) Find an MP3 player widget that you can embed on your chosen blog/website/social network page. Different sites support different widgets. I recommend using Google to search for the right player. For example, for WordPress users, using Google, search for WordPress MP3 Player. The first search result recommended by Google is: http://www.1pixelout.net/code/audio-p...
2) Next, go to your call series page (where recordings are accessible), find the download button (to the right of the episode listing), and right click to "Copy Link Location" (the specific choice for Firefox. The exact words vary by browser). This will copy the location of the MP3 for the episode in a form like this: "http://recordings.talkshoe.com/TC-1517/TS-206235.mp3". FYI, the number following "TC" is your Call ID and the number following "TS" is your specific episode. You will use the entire address.
3) Plug this address into your MP3 Player Widget and place it on your blog/website/social network page. The specifics on how to do this will vary by site and player.

Dave Nelsen replied on April 17, 2009 13:44 to the problem "call recording content gone missing" in TalkShoe:
Leah,
In a separate thread we resolved this issue. But documenting it for others who might experience the same problem:
It appears that you repeatedly used telephone touch tones *2*1 to stop and restart the recording or... with your call is set for "automatic recording", you ended recording, hung up and then called back in.
In either case, this creates multiple audio files (MP3s). TalkShoe automatically posts only the first one. All others must be posted manually. To avoid this situation in the future, after you start recording, run straight through and end when done.
Further, If you leave your call set for automatic recording, you should not call in until you're ready to start. Or, change it to manual recording and call in early. In that case, just don't forget to press the "Start" recording button, or *2*1. You will hear the 6-second TalkShoe audio logo confirming that recording has started.

JoJo,
The two issues you highlighted were related and have now been resolved. On the one hand, we were occasionally inserting extra lines in the RSS feed which caused it to be unreadable. On the other hand, we had a data problem that prevented the monthly stats from running (and also prevented the weekly stats from running - resolved earlier in the week). The monthly stats are processing now and should be available by roughly 2:00 PM today.
The good news is that both of these issues resulted from a whole host of system improvements we've been making. Sometimes that causes a few "regression bugs" as in this case.

Dave Nelsen replied on April 07, 2009 20:01 to the problem "Web-based client not working" in TalkShoe:
Thanks for the screen capture. That really helps. This is a rare problem but happens if there is a failure on our side, or if the connection between our servers and your computer is disrupted for some reason.
I have four recommendations:
1) Close the window and try again. Even if TalkShoe is experiencing a server problem, we have 22 servers for this function and you may well not return to the same bad one.
2) If #1 fails repeatedly, try launching TalkShoe Live Pro instead (the downloaded client - still free). It runs on yet other servers AND uses a different communications protocol to connect to our servers.
3) If #2 also fails, confirm that you are not on a wireless connection. WiFi can be disrupted by a hair dryer, a microwave oven, etc., potentially even your neighbor's appliances if you live close to others. Also, avoid large file upload or download while using TalkShoe Live (web). Any of these things can disrupt the connection.
4) If #3 does not resolve the problem, use touch tones to start your recording: press *2*1 and you'll hear the TalkShoe audio logo/recorded live. You do not need to be running any client in order to record.
