Basecamp data importWhat information is supposed to be imported from Basecamp? When we attempted the import it only brought over users and project names - no data whatsoever.

Dave Onkels replied on May 26, 2009 13:40 to the question "Please, review website" in AppVita:
Peter,
Thank-you for the suggestion, I will add this to our list of prospective review sites. Please note we do not review every website that is submitted to us but we are always keeping an eye out for distinctive sites that offer our customers high value services, well designed / easy to navigate, and provide unique or original functionality.
Warm regards,
Dave
Dave Onkels replied on April 06, 2009 14:21 to the question "Facebook & LinkedIn" in Magnt:
Good morning Doug. Facebook and LinkedIn require customized application interfaces rather than simply detecting RSS feeds to obtain status updates. As a result, we have not yet implemented these two services but do have this on the roadmap.
However, you can still add a Facebook status feed to Nectar although it's slightly more involved due to Facebook's security settings.
Here are the instructions:
1. Start by adding a new RSS feed into your Nectar admin panel (Web Stuff tab --> Click on "Add another").
2. Change the first dropdown to "URL"
3.Paste the following link into your website address field (you may need to right-click on the link and select copy):
http://www.new.facebook.com/feeds/sta...
4. Label this "Facebook" (or whatever you desire)
5. Now you'll need to replace "your_facebook_id" and "your_internal_key" with your actual Facebook account details.
6. Once logged into Facebook, you can obtain "your_facebook_id" by clicking on the "Profile" link at the top. It will be the 9-digit number after "profile.php?id="
7. To obtain "your_internal_key" you will need to click on the "Inbox" link a the top, then "Notifications"
8. Right-click on the "Your Notifications" link located at the right, middle portion of the screen. Copy this into a text editor and you'll find "your_internal_key" located at the end of the link, just before "&format=rss20"
9. Go back to your new Facebook link at the Nectar "Web Stuff" tab and replace the two instances of "your_facebook_id" with the 9-digit number in step 6 and "your_internal_id" with the letter/number combination found in step 8.

Lost Customizations on Software UpdateI'm astonished that twice now I've lost all of my hyperspace settings across 18 spaces due to a software update. The first time, I figured it could have been something to do with a remote backup.
Not sure how these types of issues could still be a problem on a paid app. My only option after spending too much time customizing my hyperspaces install is to retire the app to the trash.
Dave Onkels replied on November 07, 2008 14:31 to the question "Wordpress similarities" in Magnt:
Hi and thanks for the question. Nectar does have a custom-built CMS (site manager) tool for updating content although it's much easier to use than a traditional CMS such as Wordpress or Typepad.
That said, Nectar was built to be your personal hub page, rather than a blogging platform like Wordpress. You can setup a blog at any number of locations (Wordpress.com, Blogspot, etc.) and link these sites back to your Nectar page very easily. If these sites have an RSS feed, any updates you make elsewhere will show up on your Nectar page.
While Nectar doesn't focus on custom Wordpress development, you can visit our sister company's website at: http://www.fuor.de which does specialize in medium to high-end custom development projects.
Dave Onkels replied on November 05, 2008 20:19 to the question "Annual fee?" in Magnt:
You've read our minds Chris. That was one of our ideas (albeit one of many). We definitely want users to be able to own more than one design and be able to switch these out. The exact details are part of a longer term roadmap that hasn't been finalized but rest assured you won't need to pay the $199 fee again - it will be something much lower (or possibly trade as you suggested).
Thanks again, great questions!
Dave Onkels replied on November 05, 2008 20:00 to the question "Annual fee?" in Magnt:
Chris,
Thanks for the suggestion, we'll add that clarification.
As for your additional questions:
We've always been hesitant to use the term 'hosting' in our marketing materials because it means many things to many people.
Nectar's $79 annual fee covers the cost of hosting your Nectar site, email forwarding, and access to the back-end management systems. This fee also includes the cost of renewing the domain name. Nectar's primary emphasis is on ease-of-use and turnkey operation so we don't have any plans to become hosting providers for sites other than Nectar personal pages.
Hopefully this makes sense.

Dave Onkels replied on November 05, 2008 18:52 to the question "Will there be an area on the site where I could upload my resume?" in Magnt:
Hi Molly, thanks for your question. We've tried really hard to make Nectar as versatile and flexible as possible by enabling connections between Nectar and third-party sites that focus on their area of expertise (photos, videos, file sharing, resumes, etc.). Rather than re-create an application that already exists, we designed Nectar to serve as a hub for your personal brand.
So to answer question, the way you would display your resume is by first uploading your file at one of the following free sites (there are also many others) and then adding this link to your Nectar page (see photo). I'd be happy to walk you through the process or even take care of this for you if you'd like.

Dave Onkels replied on November 05, 2008 03:06 to the question "Annual fee?" in Magnt:
Hi Chris, great to hear from you!
When you initially purchase a Nectar site you receive the website, domain, and 12-months of hosting for $199. After 12-months, you are only paying for hosting and the domain renewal costs so the price drops to $79 annually (or about $6.50/month).
I hope this answers your question.

TweetTrack Not Working for MeI've attempted to get several tracks working but have not received any DM's from TweetTrak. I recently unfollowed and re-followed TweetTrack just to see if this would help but there was no change. For reference, when I go to my Direct Message tab on twitter.com, TweetTrak is not listed as someone I can DM (although I know that I'm being followed by TweetTrack). Totally confusing, would love to get this working as I had no idea that Twitter had turned off the tracking feature.
For reference, my Twitter username is: daveonkels
