A comment on the question "Why do I need a PIN when I phone TalkShoe?" in TalkShoe:
Hi Josh,
Talkshoe is down today (thursday). We have a call with a special guest at 5.30pm Pacific. Will the system be back up by then? Please let me know asap so that we can make alternative plans if necessary. – David, on October 16, 2008 18:55

Great, I'm glad the issue seems limited to my computer. Thanks for checking. – David, on September 25, 2008 19:29

Did you get my email yesterday about our large "WiseUSA" Talkcasts coming up? I wanted to speak to you and/or Dave asap about capacity as we're about to launch. Please let me know what will work for you. – David, on September 18, 2008 22:35

Why don't widgets show up on website until you refresh page?My Talkshoe widgets are consistently not showing up on my webpage until you refresh the page - see www.gaiafield.net/events for an example.
Since most people will not know that they need to refresh the page (they won't know what's not there) this is a problem for us.
David asked a question in TalkShoe on September 16, 2008 17:40:
How reliable is Talkshoe for large audiences?I am organizing a series of Talkcasts featuring some high profile spiritual teachers. We may well get telephone audiences in or around the max of 250 and webcast audiences in the thousands. Can someone reassure me that the system will be reliable for such big audiences?
Also, what happens if the audience is larger than the Talkshoe capacity? E.g., if more than 250 callers call in, what will happen? Will the 251st and beyond callers get an error message? Will they be told to try the audio webcast? Similarly, what would happen if, say, 10,000 people tried to listen to the audio webcast? Is there a max number, beyond which participants would be shut out of the webcast? (ie, would they receive a message saying the webcast is full?) I want to be reassured that in the event we get a very large audience, the whole system won't crash.
David replied on September 10, 2008 20:35 to the question "Why do some people get error messages when they enter the right dial in number and code?" in TalkShoe:
Hi Dave,
Thanks for your response.
What happened in our case was that two different participants - one on a cell phone, one on a land-line - both reported getting an error message after entering the Call ID. They tried it over and over and kept getting the same error message (i.e., more than 10 times in a row, entering all the numbers correctly). They were not doing this through VoIP.
One of them finally ignored the error message and just went ahead and entered her PIN - and got in.
My question - if people hear the error message after they enter their Call ID, and go ahead and enter either their PIN or 1#, will this let them enter the call?
We're about to go live (late next week) with our marketing about an upcoming Talkcast series - we want to use Talkshoe, but if we can't be sure that we can resolve this issue, we'll have to go with something else.
A comment on the question "Why do some people get error messages when they enter the right dial in number and code?" in TalkShoe:
The error message was something like "You entered an invalid code" - even though they clearly had the right code and tried it many times - fast, slow, every which way. – David, on September 06, 2008 15:17

I'm confused - let's say I want to host a Talkcast with a large audience (say 100 people). To make it easy for them to participate I don't want them to have to sign up to Talkshoe in order to be on the call. But if they are not signed up to Talkshoe, what is their PIN, and do they have to enter it to connect?
David asked a question in TalkShoe on September 05, 2008 22:28:
Why do some people get error messages when they enter the right dial in number and code?I just hosted a "Talkcast" and a couple of people had problems connecting - they entered the code but couldn't connect. One participant called the Talkshoe Number + code about 9 times and kept getting error messages. Then she entered the Talkshoe Number + code + PIN and got in. Then she tried again, entered Talkshoe No + code + 1# and got in. Why do some people get in with just the code, and others seem to need to enter their PIN? Why do some people get error messages when they enter the code?

So far I've only been doing testing with my tech guy on this. We did another test on Saturday and it worked fine - but I was not using the computer I used when I had the problem. On my Macbook, I can access the audio fine, no problems with the buffering. The other computer is a fairly new PC, and for some reason I couldn't get the audio. This Friday we're using the system for a call involving about 6 people, and I'll ask one of them to tune in via the audio webcast via a PC, and I'll see how it goes.
David replied on August 28, 2008 16:46 to the question "Widget not working" in TalkShoe:
Hi there,
I posted the Talkshoe widget to my website, but after a day or so it stopped working - ie, when you click on it, nothing happens. I can click on the Talkshoe tab at the bottom of the widget, and this still works to take me to Talkshoe.com, but the main part of the widget doesn't click through anymore to my show.

I clicked the "Trouble Hearing" button but just got a blank page (as Tristan described). The streaming didn't work on a PC I was using (pretty recent version), works on my Mac.
I basically want to know how common this issue is likely to be - is it something that should only happen in rare cases or should I forewarn our audience that the audio streaming may not work with some systems? – David, on August 27, 2008 23:21

Josh, are there any updates to this issue? How is audio streaming working now? I just had the exact same problem described by Tristan. I'm organizing a series of highly promoted Talkcasts featuring high profile spiritual teachers in a few weeks, and I want to know if we can promote the audio streaming feature. – David, on August 27, 2008 00:09-
