DP reported a problem in The Infinite Kind on November 09, 2008 15:12:

Bank of America won't download

As of today, I am unable to use MD to download from my Bank of America accounts. The error message I receive is "The given customer ID or PIN is not valid. For more information, contact your financial institution. Additional information from the server: An incorrect username/pasword combination has been entered. Please try again." After a few attempts, a new error message told me that my account had been locked and that I needed to reset my password, which I did - but got the same "not valid" error message thereafter.

I called BoA, where surprisingly the representative was willing to accept the idea that Moneydance was a "Quicken clone" (not exactly) and help me. She checked and said my attempts to download were in fact going through, and she had no idea why I was getting the error message. She also aid that there were no reports of trouble with BoA systems.

E-mail from a site called "GetSatisfaction" is likely to get flagged by just about everyone's spam filter, which may explain e-mail not reaching people. (This just happened to me, with a password reminder e-mail.) An unfortunate name for the site!

I have the same problem with a Visa card. The problem comes and goes. Today I have five transactions that I am unable to get MD to stop downloading repeatedly. I can delete the older entries, or delete the newer entries -- it doesn't matter. The transactions keep being downloaded.

A few days ago, I didn't have this problem. But a month or so ago, and repeatedly before that, I did.
