But as far as my bookmarks, and extensions - They are gone like the wind!

Still, any Songbird is better than no Songbird. And Songbird is essential after all.

The suggestion about running songbird.exe -p is probably the only thing you can do. Make sure you don't try your old profile - that will be hopelessly corrupt. Make a new profile and accept that all your plugins & bookmarks are completely gone.

Sure sucks to start over, but with Songbird it's your only option. Unless you dare to edit profiles and copy your old bookmarks over. (Good as long as these aren't the problems!)

As far as the slow scanning - my advice is to accept it. If songbird complains about your media data and asks if it should rescan - say YES. If you say no songbird won't start properly.

Properly configured Songbird is great for any music lover but it is very delicate.

I wish they would release a program to fix profiles! Or perhaps add profile error checking and allow some things to be bypassed if they are bad. If your media database seemed corrupt maybe Songbird could come up with a blank library until it was fixed.

Oh well, even with it's problems Songbird is an awesome way to find new music. It would be even better if it came with several pages of MP3 blogs to sample. Sure sucks to lookup and put in blogs evertime Songbird dies!
