David Latapie marked one of Bart's replies in Soocial as useful. Bart replied to the idea "Features request: smart lists".
David Latapie asked a question in Apple on November 22, 2009 11:35:
Encourage serendipity: contextual menu in dialog boxesWindows has a bery good option: contextual menu in dialog boxes. That is, you open Word, click on File>Open, browse your directories, stumble upon an old file you don't want anymore or you are wondering how big it is or want to rename it or whatever. On Windows, one can do it by right-clicking in the dialog box. On Mac OS X or Linux/Gnome, one cannot.
This is one of my very few gripes on OS X (with the lack of ctrl-activated mouse pointer highlighter).
Please Apple, make it happen!

Features request: smart listsThe title says it all. In my very own case, I want to filter out every contact with a group, so that I know which of my contacts do not have a group. But possibilities are endless!
Thank you!

Add redirect and resend options to GmailThis page is very useful... save for Gmail. I suspect Gmail doesn't even have the option.

David Latapie replied on October 26, 2009 11:36 to the problem "Inconsistent import" in Soocial:
Hi,
I do not use Addressbook anymore. It was an original import a long time ago. I mainly edit Soocial and let it sync with Gmail.
I'm using Firefox on Ubuntu exclusively. No Blackberry, iPhone or other mobile devices. So far, no OS X neither - hope to change it soon, I prefer OS X over Ubuntu ten times
David Latapie reported a problem in Soocial on October 24, 2009 20:31:
Inconsistent import1. Wrong numbers for groups. I have a group of 5 persons noted as 80 and another noted as -84! I syn with Gmail and use most of the features. Please note that on Gmail, I RENAMED grimoire-inner to Scriptarium.
2. I'm sick of rewriting my datas. How can I be sure which one the three (Soocial, Gmail, Addressbook) is using the vCard fields correctly? Because Soocial also imports my City AND postal code as pobox, separating the former two values with just several spaces. You can get a screenshot or my soocial account on request.
David Latapie replied on October 13, 2009 13:48 to the question "Include opening hours" in Soocial:
Yep, that was my point about Google or others having to support it. Is there a place where to petition such an inclusion?
After all, the embrace and extend is possible for every big enough corp. Do you feel you are important enough in the niche of addressbooks (I would understand you are not allowed to answer this question)?
David Latapie replied on October 13, 2009 12:55 to the question "Include opening hours" in Soocial:
No, because the application would not be aware of it. If I sync it with Google Calendar (which is not an option yet, if I understood correctly), Google Calendar would not warn me of schedule conflict (the office/store being closed).
Of course, this requires implementation from the calendar provider too. But still, it would be halfway to completion.
Something like x-opening-hours, maybe. I don't like X tags, but if there is nothing in the vCard about opening hours, there is nothing else todo.
David Latapie asked a question in Soocial on October 13, 2009 10:30:
Include opening hoursI still have to find an addressbook which include opening hours. My way of managing my time is to pick up what I want to do and do it NOW - certainly not the best thing in terms of optimisation, but this one DOES work against my procrastination.
So, I want to go somewhere and when I arrive, tadam, they're closed :(
It happened to me a thousand times. Please include opening hours! Possibly in a standard way (I don't know much about the vCard standard), so that it could later be linked with conflict management systems (e.g.: a calendar warning you that you scheduled errands at a time when the store is closed).
Plus, you would be the first (AFAIK) to do so, which is great in terms of publicity.
Thanks!-
