I've played around with PixelPipe a little, as well as uploading images via File Manager, but it's still pretty time-consuming. Plugins for Lightroom, iPhoto, etc, or a simple bulk upload program would make life a lot easier for photobloggers.

Really awesome Typepad widget:

It's a one-click install, and adds a very clean related-posts section below each of your posts (scraping your posts for pictures to use as icons). Awesome! I got jealous the first time I saw that functionality on my friend's wordpress blog, but now I can do it on Typepad.

Note: until it's fully crawled your blog's content, it'll display the same few related posts on each entry, but supposedly they'll start to change as they build a picture of your blog.

I used to embed pictures from Flickr, and I still sometimes do with a big set, but I like them on the blog for backup/permanence purposes. It would be amazing if TP could read and display the caption off an uploaded JPEG, but for now, I just copy/paste below the picture when I upload it.

Um, any progress on this in the last three months? I still can't use pixelpipe with typepad, because it produces untitled posts and then automatically publishes them. If I could post as drafts, it would be ok, but this isn't working.

Overlong tweet policy is weird and inconsistent.

The official twitter handling of over-140-character tweets is a little weird to me. To start with, twitter takes extralong tweets fine from third-party clients, but won't let me post them from twitter.com. On top of that, though, when I post in asian characters, it frequently truncates my tweet and makes people click through for the full thing, saying that it's over 140 characters. Is this because asian characters are multibyte, or is there a different length policy for different scripts, or what?

Direct Aperture to Typepad is possible, with a nifty little tool called PixelPipe. You can connect to it with an Aperture plugin from their site, and it will post your photos to Typepad with their titles, captions, and even tags intact (you can turn this functionality off if you'd like to). It's awesome for photoblogging- once I've sorted and captioned pictures, there's no extra step to blog them!

If your Typepad account has file management, just upload those two files as-is! You can see the result at dshack.net. I literally just downloaded the two files right from google, uploaded them with file manager, and pasted the widget code into a notes typepad in the sidebar.

I've also heard lots of desire to be able to toss a little HTML or javascript up in the header, to do things like have a flickr slideshow rolling in your banner or add little js tricks like the one zoile mentioned.

You can also embed flickr slideshows right in your posts- great for a big photo collection. From flickr, click "view as slideshow" for the stream, photoset, or collection you're in, then "share," then copy the embed code they give you into your post.
