David Vittor replied on September 17, 2009 22:46 to the question "How do I link (sync) the status field in Jira and Salesforce?" in CustomWare:
You can map to your JIRA Status field to a Status field in Salesforce.
In the Configuration Mappings, (as an Administrator). Map the Status field from JIRA to the Status field in Salesforce.com. On changes of JIRA status, this value will automatically be placed into Sakesforce.com
In the mapping configurations, you can select any JIRA field to any Salesforce field that is in that list, and that should include all Custom Fields.
Btw - which version of the plugin are you using? The mapping of Status only became available in the latest version 3.0.2.

Hi Greg,
Status is one of the hardest fields to sync. Because on the JIRA side it involves going through a workflow transition, which cannot be done progammatically.
With that in mind, the best way to do this is manually have a Custom Field in JIRA called Salesforce Status, and a custom field in Salesforce called JIRA status. And map these to the appropriate "system" field.
You can also use post-function workflow transitions in JIRA to automatically update the Salesforce status custom field.
I hope this helps, but if you necessary CustomWare can provide consulting services if needed.
Thanks,
David

Hi Vallatharasu,
This is because you do not have a valid license. In order to get a license, please contact us at plugins@customware.net and provide details of which Confluence version you are running, and we will send you a license.

Looks like the permissions had to re-index, and this seems to have happened now. If I could get you to try again. If this doesn't work, can I get you to email us at: plugins@customware.net

David Vittor replied on July 13, 2009 04:45 to the problem "Salesforce plugin generating exceptions in catalina.out" in CustomWare:
Hi Dan,
In order to help us better analyse this problem, could you please send us your catalina.out logs to sfdc@customware.net
Also if you could get us a screenshot of your JIRA - Salesforce.com Mapping configurations that would help us in replicating the issue.
Currently I believe that the memory problems you are experiencing might be related to the exceptions that are happening.
Thank you.
David Vittor replied on July 13, 2009 04:16 to the question "Firewalls and Salesforce to Jira Plug-in" in CustomWare:
Hi Richard,
Sorry let me be clear - out of Salesforce - points to your JIRA url. If your JIRA is configured to be https than the URL should be configured to start with https.
As for Scalability, I dont think JIRA will have problems scaling, but the Salesforce.com JIRA plugin might. Currently the plugin works mostly on a issue by issue basis, so it should be fine. The search for custom fields should be able to handle 80,000 cases/accounts/leads, but I'm not sure how quick the response will be.
Basically both JIRA and the Plugin should scale, but please try it and let us know if you have any performance issues. Thanks.
David Vittor replied on July 10, 2009 07:50 to the question "Firewalls and Salesforce to Jira Plug-in" in CustomWare:
Hi Richard,
For Salesforce and JIRA to talk to each other you need the proxy to allow bi-directional communication. From Salesforce.com your S-Controls need to talk to JIRA using the URL "http://<yourjirahomeurl>/plugins/" (this might have a port number, or be on port 80). This hostname/port must be available externally.
Secondly JIRA talks to Salesforce using the URL:
https://www.salesforce.com/services/S...
As long as this is not blocked by your firewall/prxy, you should be good.</yourjirahomeurl>
