Yeah, it's new in CS3. I'm on a Mac, fwiw. No idea if if happens on Windows too or not.

Part-way through the upgrade, the Adobe Updater app stops and requires me to quit any open browser.

It doesn't happen with CS2. It's new with CS3.

Yup -- Took an hour-and-a-half at highest quality with no video. Much better than seven hours. Thanks!

That seems to have done the trick. We exported it at the highest quality, with video, and it only took three hours. We're trying it now without the video. Thanks for the tip!

Why do I have to quit Firefox to update Photoshop? (or any other browser or CS3 app.) What in the world does Firefox have to do with Adobe? I mean, seriously, do you guys use your own products? Doesn't this annoy you? It drives me up the wall, and I can't fathom why it's necessary.

Painfully slow render time?

Is it just us or does Silverback render _painfully_ slowly? We recorded an hour-long sesson, and output the video at the lowest possible settings, and it _still_ took around seven hours to render (on a brand new iMac). Seven hours?? That kind of render time will *ahem* render Silverback useless to us. Any suggestions?
