A comment on the question "Where do i upload thumbnails now?" in SlideShare:
That is very unfortunate. The colour values for the automatic thumbnail created by SlideShare for my latest presentation are way off, and I wanted to upload my own thumbnail to correct it. I did this with my last presenation, with no problems. Also, sometimes the cover page isn't the most legible, and uploading an optimized thumbnail is the best way to let people see your cover.
Amit, do you have a specific reason as to why this feature was dropped? Were people abusing it? Does SlideShare not have the resources? I'm also curious as to why/how the site keeps the old thumbnails I've uploaded for previous presentations...
So many questions. Ultimately I'd just like to have that feature back. – jted, on September 09, 2009 01:26

Where do i upload thumbnails now?You used to be able to upload a new thumbnail for a slideshow. Where did that functionality go?-

This problem of capping people to follow at 2000 makes sense if the ratio of FOLLOWING to FOLLOWERS was way off, but I have 1637 people following me right now, a ratio of over 5:4, which is very close to 1:1.
Now I have to convince 363 more people to follow me without following them back, keep track of who they are, and then follow them after I cross the magic line? This is very very frustrating and not conducive to building a community.
Twitter needs to change the rules on this: create a reasonable following:followers ratio minimum to prevent spammers. But don't create an arbitrary cap for responsible users...-

How long did you have this problem? Because I still see no thumbnail and it's been over 4 days. And if I click on VIEW IMAGE, I get an XML error saying Access Denied. This is not good.
I too have tried to upload a separate thumbnail, and have also tried to re-upload the file (that was 4 days ago). I don't want to start over, because I have already given some people the 'secret URL', and don't want that to change... help!-

I have compiled and compressed all of Crystal's wonderful info (and a little bit more) into a business-card sized "Tweet Sheet" that you can download and print here: http://jasontheodor.com/2008/02/15/tw...-
