Comment area not white space sensitive?

When people are leaving posts, they start the first line with five spaces (an indent), but it's not showing up. I know they can just add the "& nbsp"thing, but I doubt most of my users will know that. Anyway the comments area could be white space sensitive?

Minima Template in Blogger = no comments?

     I am getting nothing on my blog. I have installed, removed, reinstalled, twisted and tweaked & no option is showing up that allows users to post comments. The URL is http://www.fatherade.blogspot.com. I'm using the minima template on Blogger that is pretty straight forward. Please help, I really need to get this thing back up, but I do NOT want to use the standard blogger comments (because they stink). Thanks for any assistance.
     I did not install the widget, only going through the template install. It was only set up for NEW posts & I disabled posts on new blog in Blogger dashboard. I am not using the "classic" blogger layout (there is no "template" option on my dashboard).

Here is my URL: http://www.fatherade.blogspot.com. The code for IntenseDebate is there, but no option for anyone to post comments. Please help! One thing I noticed was that after I install, blogger wants to double check & make sure that it's okay to delete "html1". Does that matter? I figure that has to do with the comment portion, also, does it make a difference if "expand widget" is checked?

I have the same problem & double checked to make sure the code was installed. I have the (new posts do NOT have comments) selected in the setting options (Blogspot). And when I try to make a comment, it just goes to the old Blogspot standby of terrible.
