Actually, just noticed that there was a newer version of the Vivaty player.

This version does not crash the browser (yeah!) but does produce the following result:

However, the Vivaty Player crashes when loading the same url.

Unhandled exception at 0x2c41ed02 in VivatyPlayer.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000004.

Vivaty control crashes browser
When I try to load an X3D scene via a web browser, I get the following dialog:

Vivaty - Fatal Error
DirectInput8 object could not be created

The browser then crashes after pressing OK.

This doesn't happen all the time, but once it starts, I need to reboot the computer to get it working again.

I can open the same X3D scene just fine under the stand-along Vivaty Player.

I'm using IE7 under Windows Vista.
