A comment on the problem "Why are dell keyboards so flimsy?" in Dell:
Scheduling the service call is a matter between yourself and the service provider. If you would like me to set up another service call at a later date when your schedule is more flexible, I will be glad to help. – Dell-Bill_B, on October 30, 2008 17:43
A comment on the problem "XPS M1210 battery won't charge and AC adaptor not recognized" in Dell:
Hi. So, by same problem you mean that sometimes your system will run fine on ac adapter power and sometimes it will not? You notice it toggling between ac power and battery power randomly at times? If not, and what you are seeing is a consistent "ac adapter type can not be determined..." message at power up, then all you need is a replacement ac adapter. If your symptoms are exactly as described, you would need a replacement motherboard as well. – Dell-Bill_B, on October 30, 2008 14:08
A comment on the problem "XPS M1210 battery won't charge and AC adaptor not recognized" in Dell:
With the intermittent fail/success results on ac power, it sounds like the power block (part the adapter plugs into on the motherboard) has become loose. The next part to replace would be your motherboard. – Dell-Bill_B, on October 30, 2008 14:07

I have no control over the billing process. The work order is billed to Dell via automated process, as far as I know. I think he should be able to get them both done at the same time. It's just a matter of routine that he gets whatever paperwork he's waiting for on his end to do the billed to Dell job. – Dell-Bill_B, on October 28, 2008 17:00

I'm no CPA. Barely passed ACCT1301 my freshman year back in the stone age, but that invoice is a place holder. It stays there on your account until the old motherboard is shipped back to Dell. You have to pay nothing, and I don't think a paper invoice is mailed out.
The shipping address is the Elkhart one. – Dell-Bill_B, on October 28, 2008 14:51

Got it from the service tag, actually. I have sent the case over to the appropriate group within Dell. Awaiting a reply. I will come up with something here. Hang in there. Your case is very different than most. – Dell-Bill_B, on October 27, 2008 20:38

Working on it. Replied to your emails. Your case is more complicated than most, as your reseller assumed responsibility for warranty replacements, and we never warranteed your system. I am chasing down options now. I think there is a disconnect between the reseller and Dell somewhere, but I will find the path to resolution somehow. – Dell-Bill_B, on October 27, 2008 19:49
A comment on the problem "Dell XPS M1330 Problems with Graphics / Video Driver" in Dell:
That explains it. There is no reseller involved. Dell Marketing LLP must be the entity we use to charge agreed to purchases to customer credit cards. I have never used my own credit card to purchase from Dell, so this is why I was clueless.
I think you may be confusing my reseller comments to Troy with your case. I have already dispatched a service call for your system. – Dell-Bill_B, on October 27, 2008 19:47

The comment you are quoting here was in response to troy's reply, and has nothing to do with your case. I have already set up your service call, and you should hear from a field service tech to schedule a service time and place within a few business days. – Dell-Bill_B, on October 27, 2008 19:46

Dell Marketing LLP is not the reseller. It looks like your reseller is named TECHNOFLEX. However, they negociated different terms than Troy's reseller. Your warranty is handled by Dell. Your reseller, in effect, paid a higher price than Troy's but did not assume any warranty responsibility. That is why I am able to set up your dispatch, and if it comes to it, Troy's will involve extra steps on my part in communicating with his reseller, should it come to that. – Dell-Bill_B, on October 27, 2008 16:11

see comments added to your replies above. Try contacting the reseller first. He holds the warranty obligations for your system. If he denies service, just let me know. – Dell-Bill_B, on October 27, 2008 16:07

Service has been set up. I dispatched the motherboard directly to your address of record, and sent a work order to the field tech. You should be hearing from a tech by Wednesday or Thursday. I apologize for the inconvenience, and thanks for your patience. – Dell-Bill_B, on October 27, 2008 15:52
A comment on the problem "Dell XPS M1330 Problems with Graphics / Video Driver" in Dell:
I did some research on your case. Your system was sold to the reseller. Part of the reseller agreement is that all warranty services are to be handled through the reseller. Please try contacting the reseller about getting the mobo replaced, and post back how it goes. Just please take the first step of trying to get the reseller to honor his contract with you, and replace the parts. If you run into any problems, post back, and I will take it from there. – Dell-Bill_B, on October 27, 2008 15:29
