One thing you may want to do is post your suggestion on our Dell Ideastorm.

If enough customers get behind your suggestion and vote it to the top, you may see this change implemented in the future.

As it stands, Dell batteries are considered consumable and as a result, only carry a 1 year warranty for replacement.
