If your hard drive is bad it may need to be replaced, What is wrong with the hard drive? Do you get an error? Did you misplace your WinXP disc? If so, you can click the title below to fill out the form and Dell will replace your disc one time. I dont think that you can download WinXP these days. You would have to purchase it.

I have not heard of any plans for Mini Notebooks with Ubuntu as of today. I will pass your idea on to our engineers.

You can get more ram for your system by going to www.crucial.com and inputting your system type.
Dell Computers have a varied price range for the individual.Maybe take a look at other computers that we offer.

Once it boots into Windows go to start, run and type in MSCONFIG and click run. Once that opens click on the BOOT.INI tab. You should see the phone number at the end of a line. Remove it and apply the settings then reboot.

Contact Canonical software support at 1-866-9UBUNTU (1-866-982-8688). If they determine that hardware needs replace then email me back.
