Hi Val,

As long as your Drupal site can support iframes you should have no issues embedding timelines in to the site. We've chosen iframes, rather then javascript, to insure speedy rendering of your site as well as the timelines.

Hi jr++,

Dipity can be internationalized, well at least the timeline widget can and since you can embed it into a page, you're pretty much good to go.

Basically anything that has a label that is inside the timeline space can be localized. So far, we've done German and Dutch for some of our partners.

A comment on the question "Sharing timeline?!?" in Dipity:

This is 'supposed' to be working. You should be able to specify only the level of detail that you know / have (e.g. only Year, Year + Month, Year + Month + Day...). It appears that this feature is currently broken and has been placed in to the queue of 'things to be fixed'. – Derek Dukes, on October 21, 2009 21:13

Just a quick update on this for you all. We're still working on the automatic updating issue and should have it resolved in the next few days.

Hi Asmarkowitz,

Yes, Dipity can be embedded in to most publishing platforms like blogs, wikis and social networks that support iframes.

To embed a given timeline, click the 'Embed Widget' button in the upper right-hand corner of the timeline. This should display an 'Embed Builder' which gives you some options for what you want to embed.

Hi Vicki,

You can paste in a URL to a .flv or .mp3 file that is hosted somewhere and we'll render the appropriate player to play the remotely hosted file back.

Here's an example:

We've considered adding this feature and if more users request it is something we could add to the system. The hard part is rolling this feature out in a way that's not overly complicated.

Hi Vicki,

Sharing a timeline can be accomplished in a number of ways. Any public timeline can be easily shared. First make sure your timeline is in fact public. You can do this by clicking on the 'Topic Settings' link under the title of the timeline and scrolling down to the permissions area. Once you've verified the settings you can share in the following ways:

Share Buttons: In the upper right-hand corner above the timeline are 5 large buttons (see attached image). Each one corresponds to a different service (Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, StubleUpon and Digg). When you click each one you'll be taken to the corresponding service and you will have 'shared' the content.

Link Sharing: From your browser bar you can copy and paste the link to a given timeline (for example: http://www.dipity.com/AirandSpace/Apo...) and your friends will be able to access your timeline.

Sorry you're experiencing problems. Can you send us a link to the timeline that is having problems and ideally one of the events?

To get a link to the specific event click to open it then, click on the date link in the pop-up (this will reload the event) and update the location in your browser bar. Then copy and paste the URL from your browser bar. It should look like this:
http://www.dipity.com/derek/personal?...

Once we have that info we can take a closer look.
