DetoxExperiment replied on March 19, 2009 18:23 to the idea "Multiple Ping Emails" in Ping.fm:
Mostly because in some cases while mobile I could post to one or multiple emails. But mostly because there are so many people who won't take the time to figure out the triggers.
For instance, if my default is set to micro-blog, I can't trigger both my Status only and location because I can only use one trigger. But I could send a post to the status email with a location trigger included. Also I could send a post to micro email without wondering how much just got cut off on my status update sites.
But as well, If I sent a post to the blogging email it wouldn't cut off the much longer post, which is harder to gauge how many chars have been used between the shortened picture addy, title, and body of the post.

ok, try this, clear cache/cookies/temps and then, if you have either of those two sites set to 'Remember Me' get rid of it, see if the problem goes away.
when I started using my wireless I'd keep having to reset things like that but, if it remembers you from one place, and then you connect from a place down the block, it can get mixed up. sure you have to enter your pass each time...but hey.

DetoxExperiment asked a question in Ping.fm on March 18, 2009 20:39:
How many Triggers can you use in a single message? Can I use multiple triggers?
For example:
@s working in the sweat lodge.
@m is working on some new ideas for the website.
DetoxExperiment replied on March 18, 2009 20:33 to the question "I am not clear about the distinction between 'Status Updates', 'Blogging' and 'Micro-blogging'." in Ping.fm:
Click Settings on the Dashboard, then Click Default Settings. Here you can select your Default Method. This will select how you intend to post most frequently. If you use sms, this is how your post will be directed to each of your services.
Status Updates are meant to be short and quick. 60-80 char limit on some services. A txt from your phone with your status in the subject line.
Micro-Blogs are the mid range. Nothing over 140 but you can go into a bit more detail. You can send pics to most micro-blogs, with your message as the subject line.
Blogs are the beast. You can pretty well rant to your hearts content. Shouldn't run into limitations except on some Titles. Sending a photo with your cell is best because it raises you text limitations in the phone to a larger more reasonable size. Subject will be the title and the rest your body of post.
When you add a service, check the box for what you want it to receive.
Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, and similar, can use both status updates and micro blogs. You can select for it to recieve both, but your Default Method will determine which type they get.
If a service only gets status updates, and your default method is set to micro-blog, then nothing will be posted to that service. If a service can receive both status updates, and micro-blogs, but your default method is set to status updates- Your post may be cutoff if you go over the status char limit.
Now remember these are just the defaults. The triggers are fairly simple to use but kinda hard to remember. Here's a trick I use, edit your signature to include the triggers you are most likely to use: @s @b @m Then each time you open a new text you can delete the ones not used and start texting away.

DetoxExperiment shared an idea in Ping.fm on March 18, 2009 18:57:
Multiple Ping EmailsSometime you want to update your status, and sometimes you want to post a wicked rant.
But if you're mobile it's kinda hard to log in and switch your ping from status updates to the other options.
How about if each option had it's own unique email tied to your ping account.
Status Updates : status.wxyp23g@ping.fm
Micro Blogging : micro.wxyp23g@ping.fm
Blogging : blog.wxyp23g@ping.fm
This way if you have all your sites enabled, only the ones that take status updates get hit by the status addy, your micro sites only get the micro posts, and your blogs only take the blog posts. And if you want to hit them all with the same info you just select all three addys and fire away.
DetoxExperiment replied on March 18, 2009 18:43 to the idea "Cellular Service specific options." in Ping.fm:
It might seem like there are a lot of cellular service providers, but the majority of them do use each others networks and formatting. Like Sprint now has virgin mobile boost and several others like radioshacks own line now....
At&T Verizon and cricket have all started new formatting for their services to expand to the new audio/video messaging, so each one will have a specific format to follow, this should be easy enough to find and use to make this idea work.
DetoxExperiment shared an idea in Ping.fm on March 18, 2009 18:39:
Cellular Service specific options.I use sprint and they have some awful formatting on sms to email msgs.
Get the msg on your phone and you're ok, but in email it comes through as flash and mixed html.
If there were a setting to pick which service provider you use, ping could have a heads up on how to format the inbound sms:email to post it appropriately.

If you think you have already put in a proper key, try this: Regenerate a new key and then enter it into your twhirl settings. I accidentally generated a new key during my clicks through to add certain apps to ping and it stopped my thwil dead in its tracks just as you described.
Also, in the rush to post to as many services as possible, you could have chained them in a wierd way that you have a loop between ping and twitter. ping updating twitter and twitter updating ping through thwirl. I got a few odd double posts doing this myself and had to start from the ground up.

DetoxExperiment replied on March 18, 2009 18:05 to the question "Just as it sends an update to Twitter, Facebbok, etc..., can Ping send a Status update to a cell phone or e-mail address?" in Ping.fm:
I just put in a problem where when I set to Blogging it doesn't post to my ping account at all. MicroBlogging works fine but I can't enter a full blog that way.
trying to figure out if its a format issue with my provider or just a glitch in the ping servers still.
So you're looking for some notice that your post has been cutoff if/when it happens?
DetoxExperiment replied on March 18, 2009 17:59 to the problem "Ping Pooped Out on Me Again!" in Ping.fm:
Do you have your browser setup to remember your passwords? might try clearing that password list as well. it's a pain but that fixed a similar problem I was having.
Does your password use the shift key? Saw another user who used special chars in their password and whatnot. Kind of like some linux setups, you could use a password like: up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a. and it just keeps tracks of keystrokes.
DetoxExperiment replied on March 18, 2009 17:52 to the question "Why won't my Twitter won't connect to Ping.FM?" in Ping.fm:
I had the same issue, but it was that my twitter username wasn't correct. Case sensitive on the username, i had detoxexperiment and had to capitalize- DetoxExperiment - But the strange characters, if your password isn't 10 chars in length I would double check it, it could be taking in the shift key or other keypresses in your password
