bLADEwiki updates are available at http://bladewiki.blogspot.com/Please be aware that updates are located at:
http://bladewiki.blogspot.com/
[Edit] I tried to post this in the "Updates" section, but I guess that isn't possible. The section is blank and I thought the newbies would benefit from a redirect to the blogspot update pages [:)]

Regarding all the new .dlls in the bLADEwiki directory .... I have up until recently just had Interop.SHDocVw.dll in the root bW directory. I manually copies the:
Interop.IWshRuntimeLibrary.dll
Interop.Microsoft.Office.Core.dll
Interop.Outlook.dll
into my root bW dir (C:\bLADEWiki).
Do these .dll files need to be on the Windows Path ? Do they need to be registered ?
HTH.

To further the hijacking idea, I exported the bLADEwiki page in which I made the Outlook link to .htm ... when I open the exported page in FireFox .. and click the link ... the Outlook task open successfully.
when I open the exported page in IE(7) .. and click the link ... the Outlook task opens in another IE window (the task does not open successfully).
/stumped.
Note: I have tried this on 5 of my PCs, all the same problem.

I used these instructions to add the outlook: protocol to FireFox.
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/T...
Essentially,
For other protocols, change the protocolName to match the name of the protocol you want to register and programName to the name of the program you want to have open:
javascript:navigator.registerProtocolHandler('protocolName','http://support.mozilla.com/value=%s','programName');
I used.
javascript:navigator.registerProtocolHandler('outlook','http://support.mozilla.com/value=%s','Outlook');
Then I went into FireFox (Tools .. Options ... Applications) and saw the entry. I added a new entry to use with the Outlook protocol (see image below) and deleted the one I made above.

To prove it is a hijacking problem, I pasted what still appears in the IE window ( outlook:00000000A402A5AA908D71488C425AADE7FD10F0446F2C00 ) into FireFox and it successfully open up the outlook Todo !
Seems IE is hijacking the outlook; protocol. Any suggestions ? I have OneNote installed on this PC and i thought it might have used the outlook: protocol as well ?

What's the ultimate bLADE wiki device ?(aka I think I dropped my HTC TyTN II just one too many times).
What are people using these days ? What do you like/not like about your device, especially with bLADEwiki
I was happy with my TyTN II.

One other important tip is to break up pages in logical chunks.
If you had a page called
[Upcoming Meetings]
instead of putting all 200 of your meetings on one page ...
Make your page of meetings .... [Upcoming Meetings]
be composed of the following links...
[^Meetings.May.2009]
[^Meetings.Jun.2009]
[^Meetings.Jul.2009]
[^Meetings.Aug.2009]
[^Meetings.Sep.2009]
[^Meetings.Oct.2009]
[^Meetings.Nov.2009]
Therefore if you wanted to change an Oct2009 meeting .. you would just click that link ... and press edit, and you wouldn't be editing a list of all your meetings ... just the Oct 2009 meetings.
This also yields other benefits ... like better searching.
So ... Break up those pages !!!
One important implication is that pages composed of inner pages will print differently.
At the end of the day, I think this would be an important advance if bLADE wiki had better focus control when toggling [edit/view] modes.
digitaldoctor replied on May 20, 2009 21:01 to the idea "Two ideas for improving editing/viewing flow" in Dale Lane:
This quicker [View/Edit] toggling need has been a tough one !
My idea was highlight the text you wanted "the focus" to be on ....
For example:
(1) Edit to View
- As you finish up your edits ... highlight what you want "the focus" to be on when in View Mode.
- press control + e
- the View version appears, and then automatically uses some type of "Find" control + f to find the first version of the text you selected. (it would be up to the user to select unique text to get the intended results.
Dale said that bLADE wiki had no way of knowing what text is highlighted ...
One workaround might be if bLADE wiki automatically copied the hightlighted text everytime you clicked [edit/view] or pressed control+e. Therefore when the [View] version appears, if text was highlighted, the focus could move to that text.
I bet some AutoHotKey scripts could do this for those that really need this feature.
(2) View to Edit
Essentially the same process.
Note: one weird thing about highlighting in [Edit] mode ... is when you go back to view .. and then go back to [Edit] ... your text is still highlighted !
