We'll find out tomorrow if they actually come through with the Dejumble update, but I think these guys have taken our money and run.No Response at all from Thinking Code... I think they have scammed us all
dj41 replied on July 24, 2009 22:27 to the question "August 2009 Release Date????" in Thinking Code Software Inc.:
So 1 week till the "Official Release Date" of Dejumble 2.0. Let's take a poll as to how many of us think this will actually happen. My vote is that Thinking Code Software has abandoned the project.
If they do release a version 2.0, I will be extremely surprised if we actually get access to the desktop and iphone versions without extra fees.

August 2009 Release Date????I go to the Dejumble site today and see that it is back up with screenshots to a pre-beta version. Despite everything that has happened so far, I think to myself, "maybe they have actually done something..." and then I see...
2.0 Release Date for August 1, 2009. Are you guys serious!!!!! It has already been 3 months since the MacZot promo and now you are saying it is going to take you 6 months more.
I know I don't need to ask, but do you guys have any common sense whatsoever???

Allan - not sure if you are aware of this or not, but I thought it was time someone informed you. The following are not considered "developing"...
1) Playing around in photoshop and making pretty pictures
2) Discussing with your online WOW friends task management strategies before the next battle
3) Sitting in "the dark" and randomly clicking the keys in attempts to type as fast as possible.
Prove me that I am wrong and you are not doing any of these things...

TOTAL SCAMIt seems all that I have been saying in the past about these guys continues to come true. It has been HOW LONG since we have heard anything?
BUYER BEWARE - Stay as far away from this company as possible. They take your money and run.

Do you work for thinking code software? I am not sure how anyone could be happy be jerked around like these guys are doing to us. Trust me, the negative comments will stop once we see something positive. – dj41, on January 19, 2009 20:18

Why would you take the website down? This makes zero sense. Just make some changes, remove the ability to download the old version and promote the new version. This keeps getting shadier... – dj41, on January 19, 2009 02:54

I'll be honest - once upon a time, I was really excited about this software. When it worked, I was happy and was looking forward to 2.0.
Then the syncing stopped working and then my tasks started duplicating or not completing or coming back from the dead. It became totally unreliable. This of course was bearable as I was told that as of December, a new and improved version would be released (focussing on fixing the sync issues). I guess what happened next is obvious...
I don't want to be jumping back and forth between task managers and I can't wait indefinitely, in the dark, for these guys to pull their socks up and actually show some respect to their customers.
This is my story and I am sure hoping the next version blows us away because it looks like I am stuck in not being able to get a refund...

Yes. But they also have been letting customers know for a long time that the actual release would be at MacWorld and drumroll please.... guess what - it was actually release. Who would of thought that a software would be delivered when promised? – dj41, on January 16, 2009 18:06
dj41 replied on January 16, 2009 18:04 to the update "News update, beta and refund policy." in Thinking Code Software Inc.:
We both know there is no such thing as a bug free release. There you go again giving promises you cannot deliver. What are you going to say to us when you FINALLY release the software and we find a bug?
It is better to be straight and honest with your clients. Let them participate in the development by actually getting their hands on the product --- especially if they have paid money for it. This is how to do it. They way you are doing it shows poor judgement and causes me as a customer to question whether or not I have been scammed.
I really could care less about the upgrades for life. At this point, I find that hard to believe. You will probably change the name of the software or find some sort of loophole which will allow you to still charge us when the next major upgrade comes through.
I am now using another software which I am quite happy with and want to put this whole thing behind me. Two words -- Please refund.

I like CulturedCode's approach much better. Don't charge the customer until you have a product that works as it is advertised. Why would version 1.1x not be free? how did it work any better than your beta? – dj41, on January 16, 2009 17:56
dj41 replied on January 16, 2009 17:50 to the update "News update, beta and refund policy." in Thinking Code Software Inc.:
The problem I am having is that I bought the software because YOU had indicated that the 2.0 release was going to be made available and that as incentive to buy the release, MacZot would be promoting Dejumble.
I am well aware of the bugs in beta software and am fine with that. I am not fine with being tricked into buying a product that is not yet available. I guess the lesson in this is that you can never trust the developer? You would think of all people that you would have a good feel on the release date, especially since at one point you provided an exact date of release.
Just let me have my refund and I will be gone for good. I don't care how good version 2.0 is, I want nothing to do with this company.

Questionable Business Practices???I would like to get a feel of what others are thinking. I personally have not run into anything like the situation we are facing with Dejumble before. What kind of company says they will deliver something soon and then completely changes their mind and then holds their customers accountable. If I am wrong and you all feel that what is being done is not abnormal, fine, I will be quite about it all.
Use this topic to share your thoughts.

Your business practices seem to be shady at best.
First you dupe us into buying the software by telling us that we will be getting the new and improved version with all of these extra features.
Then you tell us that the new and improved version is not coming anytime soon and that you are "gathering capital" - which in my mind tells me the money we paid has been wasted away.
Now you tell us that we can't get a refund if we bought through the promo? Last I checked I did not get what I purchased.
I have sent two refund requests and expect to get a refund. Fact is, I need a task management system that works and yours DOES NOT! I have moved onto another solution and am not longer using Dejumble at all. Any honest business would put it's customers first.
As for the development process - from a customer point of view, I could care less about your excuses. If you would have been honest from the get go, it would have been a different story.
This is pathetic!

It has been 19 days since we have even heard from these guys. Are we even sure hat they are still out there?
Allan & Cory - if Dejumble is supposed to be a productivity software, why are the two of you so unproductive?? How difficult is it to just give us updates? Allan at one point was able to show us a more developed version of the software -- why can't we get our hands on at least that?
Building on the Princess Bride reference above, I would classify the two of you as the character Prince Humperdink --> all talk.
