DJ replied on October 29, 2009 20:44 to the question "CG Exempt won't "stick"" in Tightrope Media Systems:
I may have solved my problem and figured out my workflow.
So back to the original issue:
In the image below I have ShowID 43, on the schedule the "E" icon is not active. Clicking the show title I get the Edit Show page with CG Exempt checked, suggesting to me that this show should be exempt/not show up in my dynamically generated schedule.
The show does appear in my schedule.
Then I noticed the "Details" icon on the schedule page. Clicking this brings up the "Advanced Setting" page. Despite the CG Exempt checkbox being checked under the Edit Show page, it is not checked on this Advanced Setting page.
So I checked the box and saved. Now, back on my schedule page, ShowID 43 displays a blue "E" icon. If I randomly move forward to next week in my schedule and schedule in ShowID 43, it continues to show up as CG Exempt.
For now this seems to work. Will follow up later if I'm proven wrong.
DJ asked a question in Tightrope Media Systems on October 22, 2009 20:03:
CG Exempt won't "stick"CG Exempt won't "stick" for some of my cablecast shows, not all of them.
When I either click on the show record from the schedule, or pull up the show by it's ID number, I can see that the CG Exempt box is ticked. I've resaved these show records, run auto pilot yet, the shows still show up on my dynamically generated Carousel schedule.
I can manually exempt each run of the show via the schedule page Lock and Exempt options and this does work.
Basically I don't need PSAs or multisegmented shows coming up on the schedule.
How can I fix this so that cablecast and carousel recognize these shows as CG exempt?
Also, any suggestions on workflow to prevent this sort of glitch in the future.

How do you edit a template that already exists in Media > Zone Templates? How do you edit a template that already exists in Media > Zone Templates?
The manual and onscreen capability almost make it seem like you can only edit -
1. When you initially create the template
2. Or on a bulletin by bulletin case of using that template to create a new bulletin.
Basically, I have a template that I want to retain 95% of the layout. It takes a long time to create templates from scratch. I just want to make a copy of the MyTemplate I have, tweak it and save the copy as MyTemplate2. I went to Media > Zone Templates, duplicated it....and now can't seem to find a button that will let me edit, just Add Delete, Copy and Export.

Can't see first post of a thread?I can't see the first post of a thread. This includes threads strated by others as well as threads I started (and linked through my dashboard)
For example, I pulled a thread randomly from the GS board here:
http://getsatisfaction.com/getsatisfa...
I can't see myDivisoria actual question but i can see Eric Suesz's reply. For threads with mutliple replies, I can see all those too, just not the original question/first post.
I noticed this yesterday (I visit the boards abou1-2 week). Previously, seeing the first post had not been a problem. I'm running IE 6 (corporate set up ....I know)

No, thank you! I was looking at the RSS feed for some other stations bulletins and, as I expected, 200 is so beyond the norm. Any kind of preview help would be useful, even for just checking the cycle for freshness/typos etc. – DJ, on July 21, 2009 22:58

DJ asked a question in Tightrope Media Systems on July 21, 2009 22:47:
Cablecast auto assigns back to back playback on SX1We're experiencing a consistant issue with our SX2 server auto assigning two video files to play back to back off the same playout device. 99% of the day Cablecast checkerboards playback between SX1 and SX2, plus our other devices, but like clockwork, at about the same time each morning and evening it will schedule two back to back shows on SX1. The second show never plays, leaving us in black.
The video files work and avarage 0 -3 sec cue times, 30-60 sec length.
My understanding is that the SX2 set up doesn't have true back to back playing capability yet. What I don't understand is why would it auto assign the back to back playback about twice a day (yeilding twice a day that our channel sits in black because the second show wouldn't play) when the rest of the day auto assign works as expected?

Easier Bulletin PreviewI'm in the process of converting close to 200 mostly jpg uploaded bulletins to an XML file and may be missing the obvious here, but is there an easier way to go through the list of active bulletins?
As in, when I'm in the active bulletins tab, and click the spyglass preview icon, the lightbox /thickbox like interface that opens gives me the option to "See Bulletin Full" size or "Close". Some << Back and Forward >> arrows would be nice here.
Alternately, if I'm looking in the slideshow view, the option to go forward or back would rock too, or at the least advance the slideshow by mouseclick.
I'd just be greedy for wanting those same options for the backgrounds and templates too... but it'd be nice. The thumbnails are okay, but as I currently understand the system, you have to get fairly deep into making a new bulletin and choosing a template/background from a list before you get to a larger sized preview.-

Scheduling Carousel Bulletins as Cablecast ShowsI'm looking for strategies and ideas for implementing an hourly news/weather/traffic break.
This is what I have so far:
Throughout the daily schedule we'd like to switch from CableCast to Carousel to display a group of dynamic bulletins featuring local weather/news/traffic. My simple solution was to schedule Carousel so that during the day only that group of boards ran and during the evening, the rest of our full bulletin board cycle played. Then, on the cablecast side, we'd just schedule in gaps in program at the top and bottom of the hour, forcing Cablecast to default to Carousel where it would display our dynamic news boards.
The problem: About 80% of our city gets a feed of the California Channel which is currently routed through the cable company instead of through us. Like, the cable company lays the Cal. Cahnnel feed on top of our outgoing signal- Carousel.
The other 20% get cable through the phone company, phone company does not have the Cal. Channel, so the Fios customers see our Carousel all morning. Which means I can't really have them look at the same 4-5 screens all morning.
We've also looked at scheduling our weather/traffic as alert bulletins but it seems like we'd have to schedule 24 separate groups (copies) [ see a related question] and that seems like a lot of extra housekeeping to keep up on.
The "Is this doable?" question: Can I schedule a group of Carousel bulletins? Like, consider carousel as an input device, like a DVD player or video server. In addition, I'd only want to schedule one group of bulletins, not the entire cycle.
Summary: I want to schedule Weather and Traffic at the top and bottom as a Cablecast show that is made up of a specified group of Carousel bulletins.

I'm wondering if there has been anymore work in bulletin scheduling, as it applies to the original question?
