Blankd, that was the approach I took, but the problem here is with IE's Xmarks app. I don't use IE but installed IE Xmarks to use it as a sync point for iTunes. As has been noted before, for some reason using Xmarks with IE causes random bookmark sorting from time to time. It's highly aggravating to folks like me who maintain a couple hundred bookmarks that have been meticulously sorted and arranged by hand, only to have them reset every few days/weeks/months. It got so bad I had to stop running Xmarks for IE, and I still haven't finished reorganizing my bookmarks from the last time it happened.

As a developer, I'm tempted to write an iPhone app that will sync with Xmarks. Does Xmarks support such 3rd party endeavors (I don't mean financially or provide customer support, just do you allow/encourage it)? – dmorris68, on November 04, 2009 14:14
