Melanie Baker or anyone at PostRank,
It's been a few weeks since reporting the problem so I wonder if there's any update about a fix? I just tried again, but the problem still happens.
I login to PostRank.com, use the Direct Input option to type in the following feed URL
http://rssfeeds.webmd.com/rss/rss.asp...
... and then PostRank instead subscribes me to the same mistaken feed as I'd reported in my previous comments here (a feed also from WebMD.com, but totally different content items, title, topic, and URL). The same problem in PostRank also happened previously with the feed URL of a different web site that I didn't make note of at the time.
Thanks if you can take a look at this.

Melanie, I tried again just now to import the feed
http://rssfeeds.webmd.com/rss/rss.asp...
and the same problem still happens (PostRank subscribed me to the mistaken feed of a different URL).
Just FYI - in case they thought they fixed the problem, it's still happening. Thanks for any update or follow up. – average user, on October 20, 2009 16:53
don't want twitter emails reported a problem in PostRank on October 13, 2009 20:54:
PR subscribes to different feed than the imported URLI've noticed a couple times when trying to import a feed using PostRank, a different feed from the same root URL is subscribed instead. The first time I thought it a fluke so unfortunately I didn't make note of the desired and undesired URLs. But this time I know:
The feed URL to which I tried subscribing is the main news feed of WebMD.com (feed title "WebMD Health"):
http://rssfeeds.webmd.com/rss/rss.asp...
Instead, PostRank subscribes me to one of the WebMD.com blogs which corresponds to this URL (and feed title "Cholesterol 101"):
http://blogs.webmd.com/cholesterol-ma...
The problem happens with both OPML and direct import. The other time a similar problem happened a few days ago, it wasn't with a WebMD feed - so your software might have a bug in which it doesn't fully match up entire URLs in some cicumstances.
As a test, I then tried subscribing to the intended feed in Google Reader and Bloglines - it subscribes fine in both of those.
Thanks for any help. For the most part, PostRank has worked great so far.
