It is just how Places were designed so that the user could see just theirs or all with the redline on the left indicating a MyOpenPlace to you. Also, if you accidentally put it in shared and you do not want to share it, you can: First - copy it to your 'MyOpenPlace" and then Second - Delete it from the Shared.
