I'm on numerous other location services - I like trying new services as this is a really fun space. I'm saying allowing web checkins and the new audience it enables is more important than the percentage of users might check in from a place they're not really at.

I dont own an iPhone and I want to check in to gowalla. I don't care much about the game portion or cheating, I want to share my location with my friends.

any plans to have a feed of my friend's checkins? keeping track of my own check-ins is not terribly useful. Also at latitude/longitude would help!

thats an important feature - the user would have to trust the icecondor application with the storage of the shizzow username and password, which i think most people would be willing to do.

the next feature to be implemented is unique markers on the map for each feed.

A suggestion: note the client software used when the API is accessed. I was just thinking about when icecondor will be able to autopush checkins to shizzow. Then I thought about the shout message and adding a signature of 'icecondor etc'. i realized immediately is a terrible idea, like the forced signatures in yahoo email. twitter puts the name of the client software in tiny print with each tweet. having that for shizzow messages would be a good way to give back to the app developers.

A unique identifier for each client application is integral to OAUTH so shizzow's OAUTH adoption might be a good time to think about adding this.

HTTP Simple Auth could be used to protect an RSS feed of my friend's shouts. Its how brightkite does it.

Add a title/tooltip to the "time ago in words" part of a shizzout entry that contains the exact date. I was trying to look up which day of the week Ryan visits Crema. The history for Crema shows 1 week ago, 2 weeks ago, etc. which is nice. a span with a title attribute would let me hover over those words and get the exact date.

i've been happily getting XMPP updates for months but the last update I got was Sep 25th 11am. I've tried re-adding shout@shizzow.com to my IM client and doule-checked the settings on shizzow.com.
