after a certain amount of time, the leave option becomes unavailable. why is that and how long does it take?

i just saw turoczy checkin at the sidedoor. its a bar and normally a meet-up space, but how do i know he's not there with a client? i assume that a shout is not an invitation to meetup unless they say so in a note. at the same time, i think people dont make that effort even when they're open to meetups. a checkbox as part of a shout could be a simpler way to indicate that status.

shizzow already supports multiple place records with the same address. each person in the household would have their private 'home', which can be the same place.

if someone searches that address, they would see the version of the place that belongs to their friend, or a list of the duplicate places if they have multiple friends with the same private home address.

at http://pownce.com/settings/fireeagle/ i get "Your location is 0.0, 0.0!" no matter what i input into the location box. I've tried a full street address with city and state. I've tried a city and state alone.

i'm very excited about using pownce along with fireeagle location support! thank you for doing read and write to fireeagle.

automated posts to twitter of any form seem to come across as spammy. i know i cringe at brightkite posts.

the twitter integration id like to see is @username support. display that as a link to twitter in the shouts. add a profile URL for their microblog home page, such as twitter.com/donpdonp or identi.ca/blahblah, then create an A link for @donpdonp that goes to whatever link i put in my profile. that way microblogs besides twitter can be supported.

I have friends on socalthing, i can see their posts. If i cannot explicitly "friend" a socialthing user because it is done for me, how is the list of friends created?

"Friend Discovery will allow you to see the missing links between your friends and you." its that initial of set of friends that im asking about. how do you define 'your friends'. you can be as technical as possible with your answer. i can handle it. :) I work with XFN discovery which I'm guessing socialthing uses.

an about page or FAQ would be really nice.

andy cochrane's reply to "Checking *out*" was just promoted to the most useful! donpdonp and 4 other people think it's one of the best replies.

add to them the ability to "time-bomb" a check in: i.e. check into a location for 2hrs, 8hrs, 15mins etc etc so that you do not need to log back in just to check out. this will be very useful for making sure info is as up to date as possible, which is crucial
